The Kentucky Horse Park is very interesting. Old Friends Farm is also a wonderful stop ... they are open to visitors certain hours of the day. Very famous retired racehorses live out their lives there. They are in pasture and you can give them carrots and pet them. This would be good weather only. Racetrack probably isn't open in January but it is something to see if it is. And visiting the bourbon distilleries is a major activity although I have not done it.
