A perfect stay at La Maison des Amis in an authentic bayou house, but comfortable and warming. A very good stop in the Cajun country's. We had the breakfast at Chez Jacqueline which was a very nice experience too.

Delightful small B&B, decorated to a T, private gazebo on the water. Could use a bit more attention to outside details, but otherwise a great choice. Will stay here again if lucky enough to be in the area. Great little breakfast area shared.

Its a charming old historic home that has been restored, and includes nice antique furnishings and art work. The grounds were very nice and we enjoyed the rocking chairs on the gazebo down by the water. The few disappointments were that aside from the housekeeper, who was friendly and helpful, there is no resident/owner there to meet and talk with...

We stayed for one night, on a three week road trip and it was my favourite night's accommodation of the whole three weeks. Breaux Bridge itself hasn't got a huge amount to offer, but we spent the afternoon of our arrival sitting in the garden under a pergola next to the bayou, with complimentary soft drinks provided in the communal...

I stayed three nights in room #2. I was disappointed in the cleanliness of the room and the neglected appearance of the grounds. The motivation for this review, however, was the fact that the website for Maison des Amis represented that a full breakfast was included, when all that was provided was a $10 voucher for a local restaurant. The...

If you are expecting a sparkling, brand new B and B with a proprietor doting over your every need, this is not the place for you. However, if you are interested in a beautifully renovated(check out the before and after photos!) Cajun cottage on Bayou Teche, then give it a try. Yes, the owners live in Maryland...seriously. However, the housekeeper...

......overpriced. We had no interaction with hosts at all. It was a Friday night and we were only guests. We were a bit put out at the lack of a cup of coffee in the morning. If you spend $140 on a room, you at least expect to get a cup of coffee! The common area was locked up tight,...

We stayed for one night in room 2. The TV was a flat screen BUT everything else was neglected. The shower curtain was full of mildew, the AC in the bathroom could not be turned off and was blowing a small gale making it very cold. The toilet was in danger of being flooded as a plumber's helper was part...

It is $100 over priced. The rooms are old, in the style of early 1900s. We stayed in the Picou room. Our bathroom was at the end of the hall. There was NO AC in the room, the AC is in the hall outside, so if you want to get some in your room, you will have to sleep, with your...

Went to Breaux Bridge and stayed in the Mason design Amis. First the parking is behind the Tourist center. Then the room just felt creepy. The TV was almost an antique as well. The coffee pot, frig and all was in a glass enclosed area. The gazebo while beautiful at a distance was filthy. Must have flooded before we got...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Charming Caribbean/Creole residence, Maison des Amis overlooks lush gardens, which lead to a charming white gazebo that sits over the legendary Bayou Teche. Built around 1870/1880 and known as the "Boudier" house, it is the oldest historic structure along with the "City Hotel." Completely restored in the mid 1990s and conveniently located in the downtown historic district of Breaux Bridge; one block from antique stores, gift shops, restaurants, and cafes. The inn consists of four guestrooms, each with its own private bath, antique furnishings and direct access to the porch overlooking the gardens and bayou. Famous Louisianan designers decorated the guestrooms. Each guestroom has high ceilings and old cypress long leaf pinewood floors, and is decorated with original art. Guests can relax in the glassed-in sun porch, stroll in the lush landscaped gardens or read the daily paper in the rattan rocking chairs in the gazebo. Complimentary beverages and daily maid service are provided with a personal touch. General tour information is available. Upon request, our manager can create a tailored tour to meet your personal needs.Guests receive a complimentary Cajun-style breakfast at the world famous Café des Amis restaurant or Chez Jacqueline. ... more   less
