Nice fishing pier, caught big drum. Good for night fishing. Pets are allowed. Place to buy fresh bait near and many places to launch a boat. They also have plenty parking space with room for a boat to be parked on the property. Room smells like fish. Rates are very high. Small room.

It's the bare necessities - which its supposed to be. It's not a luxury family place, nor is it designed to be. It caters to an outdoor/fishing crowd. You get up early, go fishing or crabbing, clean your catch, get a shower and something to eat. Parking is below the motel for a reason - space and flooding (it's an...

Ricky's is no five star hotel, but if you're looking for a lot of bang for your buck on the coast, this is the place. Stay here if you're serious about fishing and just need a bed. Plus, you get a fishing pier included. Most of the people I met staying here are year after year repeat customers. I stayed...

Grand Isle is favorite fishing destination for my friends and me. Ricky's is nothing fancy but it's affordable, safe and located towards the front part of the island. We stayed in a one bedroom, w/ kitchen. The refrigerator was full sized, clean and worked very well. The stove and oven is full sized too; four burners. I was let down...

I really enjoy going to Grand Isle. However, if Ricky's Motel is the only place available, with my choice of room, first pick, for free, I will have to decline. This place is unbelievably awful, feels unstable like it will collapse, the bed is like sleeping on the springs only, TV available if you like watching TV with a fuzzy...

I've read terrible reviews of Ricky's Motel. However, we had a different experience. We stayed in unit 5 on beach side. We had a two bedroom. Queen size bed in each bedroom. Had clean linen. Air conditioning unit in each room plus one in kitchen-living room area. Stayed very cool. The first night we couldn't figure out how to work...

No hot water which they claimed was a mistake but after reading other reviews my family isn't the only ones this has happened to. They make you trade your towels in for other ones and give you some in ruturn that are so tiny that it didn't fully dry my 8 yr old after a shower. The rooms themselves have...

Save your cash and run. This place is a dumb but what makes it even worse is the staff. They are the worst. There was another review talking about the manager letting himself into your room and yelling at you, yea that's true. He does that to everyone and do expect the lady at the desk to do anything because...

Our room smelled like old or rotting fish due to the excessive amounts of greese inside of the oven. They forced us to clean our own oven in the summer heat of louisiana. The tv only has 3 channels. The hotel staff has no regard for privacy and will let them selves into your room frequenly, at any hour. As...
