The best experience! We highly recommend. Comfortable bed, fresh flowers in the room and chocolate chip cookies ! Soft sheets. Claw foot tub. And the best breakfast! John, our host, was very entertaining with music and Cajun history at breakfast.

What a wonderful place to stay that captures the true essence of Cajun country. We had a wonderful time and even stayed an extra day because we were enjoying ourselves so much!! The hospitality was like no other. The proprietor ( Ravi) even drove us to and from Breau Bridge to the crawfish festival. This place is being renovated because...

John, the proprietor, makes you welcome from the moment you set foot in this B & B. Very nice touches can include drinks and snacks at cocktail hour; live cajun music and a brief tour & history of the house to take your stay way beyond soulless chain hotels. Breakfasts are superb such as lovely fresh fruit cocktails, and crab...

I couldn't imagine a better place to spend time in Cajun country: comfortable room, delicious copious breakfasts, happy hours with music, and best of all, delightful helpful people. The mix of international guests added to the pleasure of our stay.

If you're tired of chain motels and hotels and want to try something completely different, Plantation Mouton is a little gem. Five minutes drive or fifteen minutes walk from Downtown Lafayette, you'll feel like you've stepped back in time to a friendlier way of doing things. Ravi, John and the team at "Bois De Chenes" believe in old Louisiana style...

After having visited various plantations during road trips round the US over the years, it was strange to actually be staying in one. Current owners Ravi & John took over in January. John greeted us on arrival and showed us to our room, the Vhoories suite, which opened out onto the balcony. When we visited they didn't yet have balcony...

Greeted by owner Ravi, we were enchanted by our welcome, the house, the other guests, and the location. The house has beautiful big airy rooms, and our room had an amazing four poster bed in it - with a step to get up into it, as it was so high off the floor! Ravi had invited a local man to...

My wife, 17 year old son and I arrived quite late for our reservation at Plantation Mouton. John and Ravi, the hosts, welcomed us with wine and pate' on the balcony of our room and generously gave our son a spare room across the hall. John joined us with his young son and his accordian and played and sang Cajun...

What a great place ! We found this online as we have been roadtripping through the south. It was much more than your usual place to stay. It is on the Historical register, and furnished with lovely antiques, the service and extras were exceptional. Some of the fixtures have seen better days and I wouldn't even mention it but I...

Staying at Mouton isn't just about a nice room in an historical house. Although you can lay your eyes and hands on different antiques, I was also captivated by the host passion and knowledge about Louisiana and Cajun traditions and history, and the way he tried to show it to us. Our experience was pleasant from the moment we arrive....
