Folks, this is a bed and breakfast and not the Ritz so if that's what your expecting .. go elsewhere.. this place is almost 200 years old which is part of the charm. It is someones home and it is homey and comfortable It is located in a safe area about 3 miles off I-10 with plenty of eateries and...

Staying with Coerte and Marjorie was one of those rare moments in life when the entire experience enhances your own life. We have stayed in ancient French chateaux, noblemen's apartments in southern Italy and even stately homes which have been turned into hotels in England and this experience was on a par with all of those. The house has a...

I'm not a B & B type and wasn't sure what I was getting myself into. Kurt (sorry for the possible misspelling) showed us around the room & recommended an appropriate restaurant for our group, a little more lively than romantic, thank goodness. The pictures of the room (on Tripadvisor) are exactly what you get when staying. The next morning...

We stayed in the upstairs suite in the guest house. Loved the room. Also, the breakfast is fantastic. You will love the owners, Corte and Margarie. We will definitely return. I will leave a separate review of the swamp tour, but if you don't see it, I highly recommend going on the tour.

Excellent. Had very nice stay. The B&B was clean and the hosts were friendly, the breakfast was terrific. We had came there for a business trip, and all the motels were full due to some convention and we found this little bed-and-breakfast on Google. The reviews were good on trip advisor so we decided to give it a try. Really...

Only had one night to stay with on our anniversary weekend and it was well spent in such a quaint comfortable Southern-charm home of Coerte and his lovely wife. Breakfast was amazing to see and delicious to eat. This is a nice gem of location if you want to get-away from it all!

Reading Tripadvisor reviews you sometime need to be quite critical about the reviewers. There was some quirky remarks on Bois de Chene. Dark, dogs, run down etc. I do not what these people expected. It it is a old house, yes, but with a lot of charm. Everything functioned perfectly and was clean. Breakfast was great and tasty. I found...

The best thing about the Bois des Chenes is the hosts, Coerte and Marjorie Voorhies. Coerte greeted us with warmth and friendliness, and took us up to our large, comfortable room in the main house. Coerte's family has been in the area for generations, and over the next two days we enjoyed his stories of the area as well as...

We always stay here every time we go to Lafayette, & if they're booked when we're planning on going, we pick another date - our room & the owners make us that happy. Nestled under massive oaks, you feel like you're the only ones there. Remember it was once a plantation, & has been kept to that simple & rustic...

We stayed at Bois des Chenes for 2 nights where we were given a room in the carriage house. The room itself was spacious and very romantic. However, the room was quite damp/musty and needed a good airing. The bathroom was adequate and there was a small cupboard with a fridge and complimentary water. We got a very nice home-cooked...
