I attended Horwich RMI Harriers presentation night at Georgian House on Friday 24th March. It turned out to be a great evening enjoyed by everyone - children and parents alike. The room was well set up and the food was excellent. I would particularly like to mention Chris the host from the hotel who kept a watchful eye on the proceedings and could not have been more supportive and helpful to the organisers of the event as well as those attending.
Came down to the hotel for the first time today as I had seen online that they were changing their wedding themes and I must say I was blown away!! Who would have known that this hotel could look like it did we met with Rochelle the weddings and events manager, she was so nice and had lots of ideas about what we could do. I fell in love with the twilight theme downstairs I was not expecting it to look like that at all!!!
Hosted our clubs presentation night and was fantastic. From Rochelle handling all the booking and arranging before to the amazing Chris on the night, nothing was too much trouble and would highly recommend for any events you have planned. Rochelle and Chris really were exceptional thanks for helping make it our best ever presentation.
I stayed here with my 4 sisters it was a weekend away after so many years of not seeing them we picked this hotel because it was closer to us and we have never stayed here before. it was the best experience and we had the best time, as soon as we walked in meeting the receptionist that checked us into our rooms. all 3 receptionist were nice and lovely who helped and gave us ideas on what we could do while we was staying there. the 2 young girls who was serving food during the day Asha and Aisha were amazing they helped us with ordering food and also bringing room service to us multiple times. We was out mainly at night time in the bar area and also had a great pleasure of meeting the night workers Lee Ramzan and Mick who looked after us the whole weekend making us coffees drinks and snacks. I would also like to say that the managers that i had pleasure of meeting was, Zowie Chris and Jimmy who went above and beyond for us to make sure we was having a good weekend away. also the rooms were nice and clean so thank you to the house keeping team. A young lady called Tasha who went out of her way to make a late check out for us regardless of how busy and last minute it was she still managed to let us stay so a big thanks to her. we will definitely be coming back again. Thank you. …
I treated my mum to afternoon tea, and was welcomed by Julie and looked after excellently by Karen. The food and drink supplied was very good, and the setting & background music made the afternoon a pleasant trip out. Thanks to the Mercure and the attentiveness of Karen during our visit. Thanks
I had a training course there for 3 weeks. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Supplied us with tea and coffee. One of the staff Marmite was exceptionally welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. Great atmosphere for meetings. Highly recommended.
I was here in a 3 week training course with business, and colleagues. The staff here were all friendly but this review is for a member of staff Marmite who has been exceptionally friendly and accommodating.
I’ve been a member of the gym at the Mercure Georgian House Bolton for a while and I always find Simon, Josh and the team are polite, helpful and go the extra mile. The atmosphere they’ve created is welcoming and warm.
The problem with Mercures is that they are very unreliable and look nothing like the pictures you see on their websites. I am sure it is a reason why people choose the likes of Travelodge, Premier Inn & HI Express instead. As you arrive at the hotel, the sign above the entry door is broken, so it's not the greatest first impression. Inside, everything about this hotel interior is dated and needs investment. Throughout the buildings, the decor looks like it has been upgraded piecemeal, so nothing matches. The carpet down to the gym is very threadbare and grubby. We were in the rear building next to the car park. The lift was in pretty bad shape, and when you got onto the floor, every door/door frame was scratched, walls marked and carpet worn. The room was very tired, though the bed was comfy. As for the bathroom, I didn't know whether the laugh or cry with a peach bathroom suite with mismatching white loo seat and peach tiles with a flowered border, again straight out of the 80s and cheaply repaired as needed. The towel rail was also hanging off the wall. To cap it all, our room wasn't cleaned on the last night, even though the sign please come in was clearly showing. On the positive side,I liked the reception team, and the breakfast was pretty good, again with friendly staff. Maybe the best thing about this hotel was letting Guide Dogs/owners stay there as part of their valuable training. After one too many average stays at Mercures, I plan to proactively avoid them in the future, given other chains are so much better these days.…
We were greeted with a warm welcome on arrival and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. Julie made sure we had everything we needed and was extremely attentive during the entirety of our visit. The hotel is extremely clean and you could tell the staff took pride in their customer service. I would return and recommend.
