Set in a fantastic location, an ideal place for a walking weekend. Hearty supper and good beer, wine list was a pleasant surprise too. Wonderfully atmospheric, albeit not modern or ensuite, rooms- we had a narrow spiral staircase to get to room 4 with its high ceilings antique furniture and inspiring view of the Priory's remains, truly unique. Showers very...

I can not recommend this hotel highly enough. It is unique with the grounds and surrounding countryside utterly stunning. We went in autumn and were blown away by the scenery. The hotel is full of character, the pub in the old cellar is full of character with a fantastic choice of ales, and the food good. The really show stealer...

The hotel is in a beautiful, remote location, great for walkers, but also well worth the drive up the valley. It has been sympathetically renovated but retains the quirky style. The bedrooms are nicely furnished although the top floor bedrooms share a bathroom; the evening meal was very good and generous portions. The bar is popular and a little cramped,...

After a long day of walking up Hay Bluff and along the Hatterrall Ridge, I climbed back down to end my day at the Priory. Fellow walkers I'd chatted with en route had raised their eyebrows when I told them I was staying at the Priory, saying 'oh you'll enjoy that'. They were right. It's somewhere a little bit different...

An ancestor of mine, Richard Steele, had stayed here in the 1840s, so I was quite interested to relive his experience when I came through this area a few years ago. The room was well sized and comfortable, I enjoyed the dinner and company with others. Hiked part way up the trail to Offa's Dike. Enjoyed wandering through the priory...

Lovely ruin in beautiful countryside. Stopped here to meet up with friends and had a very tasty lunch in the adjoining cafe. Cafe small but cosy with vaulted ceiling. Plenty to eat with friendly staff.

It’s all very different from a modern hotel. Park in the adjacent Priory car park. To check in, go down the stairs to the bar. There is no ‘reception’ as such. Our bedroom was spacious. The door had a vague relationship with the frame. Old furniture, which is as it should be. Large comfortable bed. Jackdaws squabbling outside. No telly....

We stayed at Llanthony Priory Hotel because we were competing in a riding competition at the site. I was a bit concerned when, after booking, I realised that the facilities were not ensuite. However, I needn't of worried as the the shower rooms are excellent and only a short scramble down the spiral staircase from the rooms in the Tower!...
