This was my very first trip to the Somme and it certainly won't be my last. David and Julie are without a doubt the most welcoming and hospitable people I have ever met. It truly is a home away from home. The food on the first night was wonderful and it was lovely to have a full breakfast every morning....

During this our first trip to Europe we stayed at this gem of a place. Spacious room & bathroom - wonderful view and best of all a great restful bed. This B & B is perfectly situated for exploring the battlefields of the two World Wars in our case WW1 in paticular. Hosts David & Julie made us feel at...

My father and I stayed with our excellent host Julie (and a lovely grey haired old fellow called David) recently and couldn't have been more pleased with their warm welcome. The food was excellent but their warmth and friendship (and chickens) made the trip for us. Thanks!

We recently stayed here at number 56 for a 3 night break in the family room. It is perfectly situated to explore the battlefields and cemeteries of the Somme. A beautiful part of the world. I cannot fault the warmth and hospitality shown by Julie and David during our stay from the moment we arrived until we left. I highly...

On a trip to see the Somme battlefields, enjoyed staying at this comfortable, hospitable venue where the hosts were both entertaining and expert in their knowledge about the Battle of the Somme. The house even lies on the line of some original trenches! Very good value too, including the lovely evening meal which we had here. Sorry I had to...

We had heard great things from our friends of 'No.Fifty6' and therefore decided to stay for a couple of days. We were met in the carpark by Julie and David and soon found ourselves drink in hand sitting in the lounge talking like old friends. The house is an ideal location to use as a base to visit the Somme...

We stayed at Number fifty 56 on the last stretch of our tour of the WW1 battlefields and it was a perfect end to a great jorney. David and Juile are both extremely knowledgable and passionate about the history surrounding the area. (As well as being very respectful, the BnB is built on the german front line which means they...

I cannot praise Number 56 too highly. 5 star plus! This is one of the most friendly, welcoming and 'home from home' B & Bs I have ever stayed at! David and Julie are wonderful hosts, nothing is too much trouble for them and we left feeling we had made new friends. We arrived later than expected from Lille and...

Four of us stayed at number fifty6 for three nights in February whilst we did a guided tour of the battlefields. David and Julie were exceptionally welcoming and it really was like going home after a day visiting these historical sites. Our experience on the battlefields was unforgettable and being able to spend the evenings chatting about what we had...
