Beacon Resort near to Ulu Yam set within a tropical jungle, complete with clean hot springs pools , beautiful river with gentle rapids flowing within the resort and a east to moderate jungle trail is definitely worth more than a 2 Star rating .
The food is excellent, wholesome without any hint of Ajinomoto , much like home cooked tasty food
Customer service is first class . Went all way out to help my wheel chair bound 90years old mother which made her holiday so memorable for her . Owner was seen serving her guest with her staff at breakfast when we were there .

We encounter some hiccups during check in but quickly realize that the resort is only 2 months old. We then met with Elaine who temporary act as the resort manager. We are so amazed by the customer recovery service and decided they are worth 5 star after all

During our 2 day 1 night stay, we immediately feel like part of the family. Chef Kiat cook the tastiest meals with the Beacon special natural feed chicken. His herbal chicken congee is out of this world so is the pepper chicken soup. Noodles are to die for. Vege and fruits are grown in their organic farm !!! Its like staying in one of those super pricey detox resort without having to pay an arm and a leg.

We stayed at the Jasmine series room which is not only lovely but quiet and comfortable. Everything is brand new. Inspire by Santorini Greece, rooms are so tastefully decorated from the mirror to the rug they use

There are 5 pools with natural hot spring water of different temperature and jungle trek are not to be missed. A little brook rans pass the resort with little huts - so romantic

In the evening, we met with the legendary owner and charity queen Mary Chen herself who bought over Beacon Hospital , make treatment affordable for the sick, started the organic farm so they can afford to stay healthy by eating organic food and fruits and stay healthy and now the resort so they can come and enjoy life.

We felt very honored as she share her stories, her inspiration and how she cared for sick patients etc. She is so humble and kind calling her staffs "my old friends who came to my rescue when I started this resort having no experience"

We also notice her staffs were treated the same food as us guests while many 5 star hotels feed their staffs with leftover food from buffet

Elaine is such a gem doing her best and always there from morning to evening.
We bought so much great stuffs like their packet chicken soup, plant base omega powder etc etc

The spa uses the best essential oil and massage by Deborah is amazing indeed. With over 15 years of experience, we were in heaven. There is a special promo rate of Rm 150 for 1 hours and you must not miss this one

Highly recommended. Just 1.20 hours to get there

Purchased a day package which includes two meals and a complimentary 10 minutes hand massage at the Resort in July 2024.
The Resort is beautifully located 2 hours drive from Damansara, Selangor. The area was huge with water falls, cabanas, pet farm, plant garden, horse riding and more. It's definitely worth visiting. The Spa however, require improvement, it looks not too clean, and the therapists are all non english / bahasa melayu / mandarin speaking, making communication hard, and their grooming was out. The food however, was mediocre. One of the employee at the reception called Sham was exceptionally friendly, helpful, and hospitable. The Resort is worth visiting albeit some improvement required.

The overall facilities are good such as hotspring and river side.we had one room at peppermint / wild bamboo for rm732 even thought i stayed single,jasmine for rm 968. We all felt the food was very below par especially we paid over 300rm for bft/lunch/dinner/ hightea.for eg lunch menu was buffet of fried chicken ,chicken stew,mix vege,fried fish,watermelon,mix salad .dinner we didnt jave a choice and qas a steamboat/bbq which was a tedious,sweaty affair.the food wasnt on the healthy side n misleading on the website.breakfast was roti mainly n boiled eggs, noodles..food variety was very limited. We paid over 300rm esch for the meal packages. The hand aroma was a 2 min quick rub..which was just so misleading. I hope the management will.look into this. I tried to talk to the Customer relations on issues but she walked away. The staffs were also earing and taking food at the same time the guests are havign their meals. Staffs should eat at separate venue. There was a group booking and the allocation should separate the FIT and GIT as there were noisy at dinner. There is a good potential but many issues need to be resolve. No beacon resort staffs were keen to have feedback. We also spent nearly 2000rm at the beacon mart. And we all took massages . We spent money but were disappoineed with the food quality n variety. Toomuch deep fried food. Jasmine is more expensive but no toiletries. Also staffs were only keen to talk at superficial level.there was no resort manager or resident manager to overall manage or handle the front . The dining area has low ceiling and too hot for thai mookata. Not suitable. I hope my comment helps the management look into areas to improve.

Overly rated and priced resort with skeleton facilities. Hot spring was the only charm.

The road leading to the resort is laterite with potholes. Rainy season, the potholes are filled with muddy water. The stretch from main riad is 4 km.

The massage treatment were damn expensive despite 50% discount ie 1.5 hours massage is almost RM 300.

Unfriendly resort staff who do not smile nor greet guests at all. The only smiling and courteous staff was the check-in personnel.

We stayed at the peppermint and overall was average. There was an electric kettle and a pair of tea cups and saucers. No coffee nor tea bags and sugar at all. What is the point for having such an incomplete beverage facilities.

Food was lousy and basic with no hot drinks during dinner. One kind soul by the name Joyah made a pot of coffee for us.

Dessert was fruits only and nowhere seen organic meal as claimed.

Breakfast was a big dissappointment, just like dinner. Salty fried mee, pre-plated cut fruits, hard and soft boiled eggs, white bread served with planta & kaya and hot drinks.

Those who keen, think thrice and do not be fooled!!!

Came across this resort from social media and decided to drop by here for a day trip. While I have lower my expectations before I come, its surprising to find the place is not bad at all (aside from the 4km access from the main road). Although the resort is not run by hotel operators, many of the staffs are quite attentive and adequately trained to serve. I particularly love the hot spring area and the riverside gazebo. As the place is still undergoing some minor renovation works, I believe it can offer a much better experience to the visitor once its fully completed. The one things that I wish the resort will look into is the separation between workers storage and access. Its weird to have workers walking in n out beside the spa area as they need to pass by the spa to do the washing/collect their tools.
Again, I would like to emphasize this is not a 4-5 star resort but one have to see it from a domestic perspective to enjoy it.

The resort is nice although still undergoing some renovations and upgrades. We only had issues that our booked dates coincided with some team building and they were rather inconsiderate about the keeping the noise down. We were rudely awakened around 11pm to their karaoke session which didn't seem to have any control. Felt like a rave club due to the close proximity!
We feel that there should be some control by the staff since other guests too pay to enjoy the serenity of nature and family time here.

The first impression i received from this resort was a bad one. I had contacted the resort to enquire about a day trip with my family. I had asked for someone to call me back, but no one had the decency to do so.

Worse, the staff i was communicating with on whats app refused to reveal his or her name when i asked by whats app. I found this rather perplexing.

There was also much confusion as to the payment terms. Earlier, a kind soft spoken lady called Joya had informed me that we need not make any payment until we arrived at the resort as it was a day trip and hence no room bookings required.

However, the later staff who refused to reveal his or her name insisted i had to pay in full! I explained that we were merely making a day trip with no hotel overnight stay and I also asked her to explain why the hotel was inconsistent with their policy as the earlier staff had told me that we could pay on the day of arrival as it was only a day trip.

I even suggested that i could place a deposit but the staff's reply was that they do not collect deposits for a day trip. She then informed me that there was still availability for a day trip and told me to walk in. This response was again absurd as to reach this resort, one has to travel quite a distance on a bumpy potholed road!

The staff's reply was that the earlier staff did not know the SOP and policy of the hotel. I found this explanation rather absurd.

Judging by the unprofessionalism of how this resort had handled my intended stay, i decided to give this place a miss. I did not see any hospitality and spared my family an unpleasant trip and opted for another resort instead.

We booked the 3-bed room for a night’s stay. The villa is nicely decorated. Food was good, at least to me. Service staff is friendly. The best thing about this place is you get a river and hot springs in the same place. There are gazebos by the riverside for you to relax in. Do avoid going during rainy season though, as access to these water sections may be closed when there is rain. We were there on a weekday so it was pretty quiet. May be busy on weekends or public holidays.

Long bumpy dirt road to the resort. The site was filled with construction noise and workers. Lots of excavated land, barely any nature besides the jungle trek. Sound-proofing in the room was bad. Many activities require extra fee to participate. Barely any toiletries provided.

"Check in time is 3pm, but try to arrive early, say 1pm post lunch, so that you can check in and walk around the area. Drop bags and park car, before driven by buggie to rooms."

"Take a slow drive along the 4 km gravel road leading to the resort and you will not feel the bumpiness . It’s worth it once you reach resort"
