We had a fantastic stay at the Barrow House Inn. I cannot recommend it highly enough. The BHI is on two sites, two separate historic houses, a Victorian main house and an eighteenth century cottage over the road. We stayed in the Victorian suite in the Printer’s Cottage (the eighteenth century house), which was clean and comfortable, a bedroom, sitting...

I loved the location its self, the history alone makes this stand on its own. What I did not expect was that every time we left the home the keeper would come into our rooms and clean them and then took away my coffee cup before I was done with it. I felt almost like we were being challenged on...

Her privacy criticism is a bit confusing, as she and her parents were entirely alone in that building. Their lodging was entered only twice: once to remove soiled towels in the morning and then later to make the beds and service the suite. The third time we entered the building was at night. The three of them were heard talking,...

We stayed in the Printer's Cottage for our honeymoon over New Years. It was beautiful and comfortable as well as being a very interesting house. We enjoyed reading through the material available about it's history and the surrounding areas. Shirley and Chris were wonderful hosts, recommending sites to see and places to eat on top of being so gracious and...

Wonderful hosts in an historic setting. If you don't like old quaint, you don't belong here. We were there over Memorial Day and many of the other inns and venues that are of interest were closed for the holiday. Without the plantations and gardens and antique shops and prison museum to visit, it was a quiet time. Still, it's a...

We spent two nights at The Barrow House Inn. We stayed across the street at The Printer House. Our suite was wonderful, huge, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The only problem I had was negotiating the claw foot tub and low shower head but this is due to my back problems and lack of agility. The bathroom is very spacious...

We recently stayed one night at The Barrow House. Lots of character, really a beautiful home. Shirley was so gracious and helped us with recommendations on things to do and where to have dinner during the short time we were there. She and Chris keep a fridge with beverages and there is a basket with little snacks if needed. We...

We recently stayed at the Barrow House Inn for a weekend getaway. We had wanted one of the suites but all were booked, and this was the only weekend we had available. There was a scheduling snafu with the website but Chris emailed within 12 hours or so. The only room left was the Rose Room, which actually turned out...

Years ago, (Jan 31, 1998-2nd of Feb.1998) My Husband to be and I, got on the internet and picked by photo alone- a quaint B&B where he was going to propose to me. He called Shirley and Chirs, and told them, they set up the plans in motion, including beautiful roses waiting for me, cookies, a welcome sign, dinner and...

We live in Louisiana and wanted to get away for the LSU game against Texas A & M...and we always stay at B & B. This was without a doubt the worse I have ever experienced. From the moment we drove up we knew we were going to be disappointed...it looked terrible. Over grown old flowers and an old home...

After leaving a local restaurant/bar, this couple checked-in at 10:30 PM and soon asked for directions to the nearest bar. That bar closed at 2 AM, so they returned here with another couple (who were *not* B&B guests) and began to party in our parlor. This was the, quote, "...scolded another couple for coming in late" mentioned in her review...

We recently stayed at the Barrow House Inn and I'm glad that we did. My husband is from Louisiana and I'm from New Jersey. He wanted to take me on a trip to the "true deep south" while also tracing some of his ancestry. St. Francisville was our first stop on this trip. I had wanted to see the Myrtles...
