Room was musty and worn. Towels, linens and covers unchanged for quite a while or stored in a musty place. Furnishings outdated, worn and in need of replacement. The "Timberwood" room is a loft with exposed beams and ceiling fan that may have been new in the late 1980's but is in dire need of overhaul, with street traffic constantly...

We are sorry that you caught us in during our spring time maintenance activities. Power washing the railings to then paint can create quite a mess. We've only had a few sunny days to work with recently and painting has been delayed a bit but now well underway now that we are in a sunny stretch. Our building is dated...

We have visited Boothbay several times and decided to try the Thistle Inn. We reserved the Heritage Room on the 3rd floor. The room was very quiet but there were some things that needed attention. The carpeting throughout is in need of a good cleaning; the dust ruffle on the bed needs to be replaced; light bulb missing in the...

The Thistle Inn for me was a true delight. It is so fun to visit New England and see fall foilage, eat lobsters, and stay in B and Bs. This one was no exception. It was a house so the parlor is now a guest room and the other ist floor room is a dining room. There is no official...

As noted in most previous reviews, a great location and a well appointed B&B. However we've stayed in a number of B&Bs over the years and the Thistle doesn't rank in the better half for the same or less cost. The shower for both me and my wife was intermittent with hot and cold water (the hot water was dangerously...

The Timberwind room was very nice, plenty of space and a comfy bed. The private entrance was nice too. We were always greeted with a smile by the staff. And the food! Loved the cinnamon french toast, eggs benedict and couldn't wait each morning for the toasted white bread! Thanks for everything, we hope to go back!

Heritage room roomy but on 3rd floor up 2 flights of steep stairs (only for the fit & healthy). Can't say enough about the breakfasts & evening dine. Excellent service, high quality food, great variety & good wine. Outside dining area is very pleasant. DS, LMD

We stayed in the Timberwind room--the separate entrance enticed me. The room was large and clean and well-decorated, not at all gaudy and overrun with loud florals like so many B&Bs. We were right above the restaurant but couldn't hear a peep, although parking was slightly challenging when the restaurant patrons were there. When we had an issue with our...

Based on previous reviews we decided to stay at The Thistle Inn during our stay at Boothbay Harbor. The location is perfect, just a short walk to town after a world class breakfast .The rooms were large and nicely equipped. Our favorite was the restaurant and Dory Bar. Friendly staff with the best food in Boothbay. Don't leave without having dessert.

We took a gamble after reading all of the postings in this forum about what to do in BBH for a whole week. This Inn (The Sherman Zwicker Room) was PERFECT for such a visit. Very quiet. and Yes, you can believe everything you read about their breakfasts. FANTASTIC! My wife actually took pictures of all of them for her...

This is a very convenient property for enjoying downtown Boothbay. The Inn is old, but well renovated, and the rooms are comfortable. We stayed in two of them during our 4-night stay. As others have said the breakfasts are really good, and staff attentive. The restaurant is top class, and there are 2 menus - the expensive one, and a...
