We returned last month from Secrets Maroma where we celebrated our 39th wedding anniversary. Overall, it was a wonderful stay. After a hiccup at check in, things went smoothly. Our building concierge, Vertiz was attentive and very kind. He is new to this resort but not to the hospitality industry. He is absolutely wonderful! We used the Preferred Club Beach club and had attentive service from Carlos and Efram. We were disappointed in the Brazilian night they offered. Because of weather, it was moved to the World Cafe that night. After being seated, the staff seemed to have forgotten us and were catering to the large tables. After being ignored for over 30 minutes , we decided not to stay. We decided to try Portfino and had a lovely dinner with outstanding service by Salvador, Edgar and William. We also spoke to the manager, Juan Jose to let him know how pleased we were with our experience. One of our favorite interactions was with Itzel. She was working at Oceana one evening and we saw her again at Seaside for lunch. She is training to be a manager and I can see she will go far. She is sweet, caring and attentive. We received wonderful service from her along with Wilma, Carlos and David at Seaside. They made our last lunch extra special. Other staff members I want to note are Gabriella and Jennifer at Himitsu, Eyner at Bordeaux, and Anna at El Patio. We loved the beach at Maroma. We never had an issue finding a beach chair. We also love the pool, but the towel game was annoying. We were also impressed with all the entertainment offerings at the resort. The shows were wonderful! We highly recommend this resort.…

Super clean, great friendly staff, delicious food, generous vegetarian options, warm pool water, gorgeous beach! I felt safe which was a huge relief. The resort is so far off the main road that it was actually a turn off to leave the resort. I literally loved every moment I was there. If I could visit annually, I would!

My wife and I traveled to Secrets Marmora Beach from July 25 to August 1. When we arrived we were not met with a hot towel or glass of champagne. The check in process did not go smoothly, as well since we had to talk the Front Office manager. The issue was still not settled then until he talked to the Manager. He then they gave us a call and we got the good news. From that point on everything was excellent. There were many staff member that were excellent and should get recognition. The first staff member was our concierge Vertiz, in building 14. He went out of his way all week. The first night we ate at Himatsu and were impressed with the food and the service. Gabriella the hostess was so pleasant and remembered our names and said hello when we walked by to the other restaurants that are by Himatsu. Our server was Jennifer was an excellent server who was always there when we needed something and to make sure everything was excellent. We ate breakfast, most mornings, at the World Café Buffet. The food was very good overall but the omelet chief next to the smoothie station was outstanding. There were many items we tried and all were good. The servers Chris, Freddy, and Miquel were pleasant and attentive. We ate dinner at the Oceania restaurant. The Sea Bass was very good and well prepared. The service from our waiter Amilcar was outstanding. Itzel was also great as a hostess and she also helped take care of the tables.. IWe ate at Portofino and were greeted by a very friendly hostess Alma. The food was excellent and the service from Salvadore, Edgar, William, Juan, and their manager Jose was outstanding. We attended the Brazilian night event at the Preferred Club but we found the service not to be the level of the other restaurants and we left after waiting a half hour for a drink and server to come over. It appeared that the servers put their attention on the larger parties. The Seaside lunch was wonderful and the servers Anotonia, Carlos were excellent. We also ate dinner there and again excellent service from David, and the hostesses Itzel and Wilma. We ate breakfast at the Preferred Club and these servers were much better and much more attentive than the Brazilian night staff. The servers that took care of us were Carlos and Efram. The Bordeaux restaurant was very nicely decorated and the food was top quality. The sever Eyner made this dinner a special experience. The food and the service, provided by Anna at the El Patio restaurant was top notch. Overall our stay was wonderful however we did find the attentiveness of the Assistant Front Desk Manager left something to be desired. We also noticed that the maintenance staff had to fix the swim out pool filter during our stay as it did not appear to be working correctly. …

The service of the staff is out of this world. The best I have ever experienced. The resort is fantastic and the Asian Restaurant is phenomenonal...but this resort and its service and its staff is just beyond amazing. Air con in all the Restaurants and even the lifts.

Our second visit to Secrets Maroma did NOT disappoint! We enjoyed two glorious weeks in paradise, September 2-16. We were so fortunate that the things that were NOT in anyone’s control – weather and seaweed – were the best they could have been. The little seaweed that did appear was quickly cleaned up, but overall the ocean was so clear the entire time. What put the trip over the top? The staff! They are the BEST, hands down, anywhere!! We enjoyed reconnecting with many from last year, including a few that we still knew from our many visits to Secrets Capri in the past. And of course we got to know many more on this trip. Last year we were able to do Preferred Club but this year that wasn’t the case. Of course there are things that are so lovely about being in Preferred, but honestly, it did not affect how amazing our vacation experience was. The level of service everywhere, is excellent. Many thanks to our building concierge Oskar – we received daily updates for what was happening at the resort, he came and found us a number throughout our stay, just to check in and see how things were and if we needed anything. And when we did have an issue that needed to be addressed, he was on it immediately. We were very well cared for! We are beach people, all day, every day. I can’t say enough about the Beach Concierges. Julio and Fransisco, you both ROCK!! They are so much fun to have around and their level of service was top notch! Also Bramden and Edy, thank you for doing such a great job as well! We had a lot of different beach waiters who took good care of us – especially Alberto! One of the many things that brings us back, is the food. Our first night, and our last night, was at the Bordeaux French Restaurant with our favorite waiter Pablo. Our first night it was actually my birthday which they helped us celebrate – and on the last night, Eduardo the chef brought out a special dessert which tasted wonderful! Pablo’s service was excellent, including getting us a bottle of the house Merlot that was not slightly chilled, even though we hadn’t asked – he just intuatively knew that we liked our red wine at room temperature. We like sitting down for lunch, away from the beach, so we ate at the Seaside Grill every day. We cannot say enough about the staff – Itzel, the hostess is one of the loveliest people we have ever met and her smile, welcome and conversation every day was a highlight for us! Carolina is another hostess there who also made our daily visit so special and the service from the waiters was great. The day before we left, they asked if we would be in for lunch before our transport picked us up, and when we said yes, they said the chef had asked to make us a special lunch which we gladly accepted. OH MY WORD. That assortment of freshly grilled seafood, and then the plate of incredible dessert to finish was out of this world!!! What a wonderful memory to take home with us – thank you!! Listening to some live music in the lobby bar is also something we enjoy as much as possible, and we love the vibe hanging out there. Jessica and Carmen – we LOVE you!!! These two lobby bar waitresses are also some of the most amazing staff we have ever met and getting to know them has been such a pleasure. All the wait staff in the lobby are excellent, but these two put things over the top for us! We are morning people and we really appreciated being able to access the breakfast buffet bright and early every day. Karoly, breakfast hostess, always greeted us with a welcoming smile and the waiters were all quick to remember our preferences – double espresso cappuccinos and grapefruit mimosas! If there is one negative from this trip, it was the mosquitos. Never in all our trips have we had that kind of experience. We do realize that this is a force of nature, however, in the past we believe there was better, proactive fogging and fumigating. After the big hatch on our third evening there, which sent everyone scrambling, that seemed to have been stepped up a bit and the rest of the trip, it was an intermittent problem. It would be nice to know that this would be addressed for future trips. That aside, this really was an incredible trip to an incredible resort with the most incredible, hard-working staff you can hope to find. We cannot wait to come back again to our home away from home – thank you Secrets Maroma!! …

We had a wonderful holiday at Secrets Maroma earlier this month. A beautiful resort with first class service throughout. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay. The spa was excellent and the facials and massages were great. The food was excellent - we tried all the restaurants except the French one which unfortunately had a waiting list time when we tried to go. The beach is absolutely stunning and the preferred beach club service was a nice touch too. Highly recommend. Will definitely return again!

We had a very pleasant stay spending our honeymoon at Secrets Maroma Beach after just getting married. The room, facilities, hydrotherapy spa, pools, beach setup, and restaurants were all pristine and of the highest caliber. But most notable at Secrets is the incredibly friendly staff, who was LGBT friendly, and met our every need, pleasantly surprising us with attentive service throughout our stay, and many times reading our minds before we even asked. Above-and-beyond staff members included our oceanside and preferred club restaurant manager Gabriela who greeted us throughout our stay, Portofino server Sergio who made two of our dinners extra special, Mexican Independence Day servers Felipe and Adolfo who celebrated with us on our favorite evening, attentive Preferred Club bartender Ricardo, and pool attendant Manuel (Manny) who made our pool day extra perfect.
