We stayed here for three nights during a fall trip to New England. The setting is very secluded and peaceful. A short walk brings you down to the shore which we had all to ourselves. The cottage we stayed in (Lone Pine) is bordering on rustic, but it is what we expected. This is like staying in a cabin in...

Oakland House is beyond special! The grounds are breathtakingly beautiful. Sally and her team are so accommodating. The cottages are lovely. All unique sculptures on to themselves. Tips to travelers would be bring food as my favorite meals were spent dining on the deck! The Eggemoggin Country store has superb lobsters. Tradewinds and the Food Coop both in Blue Hill...

Beautiful place. We stayed in Ledges for our 25th anniversary trip in mid August. We were met at the front door and welcomed warmly. It was our first trip to Maine and we could not have been more happy with the accommodations. The fireplace, completely set up and ready to go, was so cozy. Lots of information on the area...

Thank-you for taking the time to review us. Your photos are really stunning! They are so true and so descriptive of our Herricks Landing oceanfront. And, in that sand can be found tiny treasures....the next person to find. I wonder what they will be? Sally Littlefield

We stayed at the Birches cottage for several days in June. It was just the right size for the two of us. Plus we had our dog who was thrilled with the "Dogie Welcome Kit" The kitchen was well equipped and served us well. There was plenty of tourist information (i.e., local places to visit, eat, etc) in the cottage...

We loved having you three with us. At your additional personal suggestion we have purchased "room darkening" shades for the bedroom. I always learn from our guests. That is how we keep getting better. Thank-you so much.

Careful attention to detail. Prompt and efficient communications with Veerle and Sally. Unpretentious decoration and furnishings yet confortable and pleasing to the eye. Relaxing vista. To get the top rating ? The only thing missing : salt and pepper shakers ;-) Marie et Jean (spent two days in Homestead Cottage, East).

My husband & I stayed at The Birches cottage for a week in September. The moment we walked in we felt at home. Being September, some places in town were closed, but those that were open were wonderful (especially El El Frijole, the Millbrook Bakery & Marlintinis). The cottage was so pretty; you could tell someone put a lot of...

We had to go to Maine for a wedding, 8 of us and 5 of them are in their early 20's so we needed unusual accommodations. We rented Lone Pine and the Grindstone cottages and they were perfect for our family. They were right next to each other but far enough apart for them the kids to do their own...

Perfect seaside cottages that are private and rustic but comfy. I would have loved to stay longer, hike, sail, and explore tidal pools while being a short drive to sweet rustic marinas and restaurants. Simple quintessential Maine. I'll be back. Great place to unplug little ones and get in tune with the stars and tides.

Thank-you for your words. You have such a great way with them. Yes, this is quintessential Maine. Now in our 126th season. We have worked very hard to retain that timeless charm and ageless appeal that attracted vacationers to this area way long ago.

Absolutely, positively the best! Tranquil atmosphere. Simple accommodations, yet so comfortable and everything one needs. I haven't seen them all, but this ocean setting must be one of the most beautiful in Maine. More than ample beach, plenty of rocks and tide pools. Right on Eggemoggin Reach so loads of sailboats going by to sneak under the historic Deer Isle-Sedgewick...
