Stayed a week. Our cottage was gorgeous little affair, and neat as a pin. The king-size bed was spacious AND comfortable. We slept well. Our hostesses were welcoming, friendly, and very helpful. They helped us to discover what was going on, and where. The breakfasts they conjure up are out-of-this-world scrumptious! It's very close to Blue Hill, Deer-Isle-Stonigton, and Castine...

Where do we start? Everything inside and out was completely immaculate. Hosts were bright and cheery. The included breakfast was delicious, healthy and cooked to order. The grounds were pristine and extremely well cared for. Frankly this would be a bargain at half again the price.

We were looking for a quiet and private place where no pets were allowed. We went up to Acadia and Bar Harbor one day and explored the trails on Blue Hill Peninsula the next- so there was plenty to do in the vicinity. The cottages are a few yards away from parking and the Breakfast Shed, and we liked the... More

We spent three days at Sunrise Cottages, beginning a two-week loop through Maine, Nova Scotia, Quebec, and Vermont. The only problem is that we should have reversed our loop, as these three nights turned out to be our favorites! The cottage is lovely -- very comfortable, totally private, surrounded by beautiful lawns and woods. At night, we were serenaded by... More

My husband and I loved our mini vacation at Sunrise Cottages. This spot was quiet, peaceful, and super clean!! It had the additional feature of the best made to order breakfasts....thanks to Fred Bull's experienced hand and his wife, Shirley's organizational skills and friendliness. We both loved the couple who own owned this property. They were helpful with directions to... More

Sharon Thank you for taking the time to review us, and a great one it is. We enjoyed having you both here, our breakfast chats, and showing you our house. Like having "old friends" over for a visit! Enjoy the summer. Shirley More

A friend and I spend a few blissful days at the sunset cottages. We enjoyed the delightful cottage, clean and well furnished with everything we needed from towels, clean linens and....coffee!!! Fred and Shirley were both excellent hosts, giving us advice on where to go and what to experience in the area. We enjoyed Fred's breakfasts, though he teased us... More

We stayed at one of the two comfy, well appointed cottages run by Shirley and Fred. The cottage was perfect. Good bed, nice sheets and towels, generous bathroom, windows that open on all walls, quiet and lovely surroundings and good reading lights. Breakfast is served nearby in the Breakfast Shed where Fred displays his culinary skills. Locals breakfast there on... More

This was the second year my wife and I stayed a couple of nights at The Sunrise Cottages during our road trips along the seacoast in Maine. What distinguishes these accommodations (the two cottages are twins, but actually the floor plan of one is the mirror image of the other) is they are much more spacious than the rooms in... More

We stayed three nights and had a wonderful time. Fred and Shirley are indeed great hosts...but not in your way at all. The breakfast is a perfect start for the day. It is a bit away from everything, which for us was a delight. We would spend out days exploring, eating (lobster) etc. And then have a nice stash of... More
