This was our first time experience at a bed and breakfast and I can say that it was fantastic! Kate was a great hostess! The house was very unique and was full of antiques. The room we stayed in was very clean and inviting! There were books everywhere and were of all different subjects. And all this was the evening... More

We are both long-time residents of Maine who had never been to "the County" so we took a trip to Caribou recently. We opted to stay at the Old Iron Inn. What a lovely, restful place! Kate and Kevin are wonderful hosts - welcoming but not overbearing. We intend to return to Caribou but this time, the Old Iron Inn... More

I recently stayed here, over Memorial Day weekend. I was there with family for my niece's graduation. I, and my family, in various configurations took all of the rooms in the inn. Kate and Kevin, our hosts, could not have been nicer. Kate prepared a wonderful breakfast each day and her baked goods were just lovely. The rooms are beautifully... More

I want to call out to Kate McCartney and her superb hospitality at the Old Iron Inn in Caribou, Maine. The Old Iron has been our home away from home since our daughter attended the Maine School of Science and Mathematics summer camp and eventually matriculated to the residential high school. Kate has hosted us for all parent events, emergency... More

One night stay in this lovely B&B. Delightfully decorated with antiques and of course, irons! After a long day of exploring the area, I arrived at the Inn and received a warm welcome from Kate. I had my choice of rooms and picked the Amoeba Room, which was just perfect to get a good night's rest. Everything was very clean,... More

We recently had a mini-family reunion at the Old Iron Inn while attending the biathlon. Kate and Kevin felt like members of the family and provided us with much information and delicious breakfasts while making us feel right at home. We made new friends of the other guests as well. It was a lovely experience.

No detail is missed at this charming B and B. The host provided us with an ample "on the go" breakfast since we had to leave to work at the Biathlon early in the morning, including coffee in travel mugs. The rooms were comfortable and the seating area was stocked with snacks and a coffee/tea set-up.

During our visit to moms hometown, we didn't stay at the Inn, but at one of their apartments around the corner. It was absolutely the perfect place !! It was clean, roomy and nicely furnished. First floor and lots of windows. We are lucky to have lots of family in the area and hadn't seen some of them in many... More

Thank you Kate and Kevin for letting us stay for our week in Caribou. We had a wonderful stay and you made sure that we felt at home in your lovely home and then even offered for us to use the cottage at no extra charge. We slept very well and long, it was always so quiet. The breakfast was... More

The room, service and atmosphere are outstanding the minute you get on the property. The views are of the main route into town but the privacy is the best feature which allows the romantic aspect. The property has a classical feel and is hosted by owners who know how to authentically meet your individual needs. They are available for any... More
