entirely by chance and unfortunately for only one night of our trip in Maine we ended up in this truly unique Inn. The rooms are just as nostalgic and originally furnished as comfort will allow, and the bar with its opulent collection of twenties to fifties last century memorabilia inspires a pleasant nostalgia. Jack, the very friendly and considerate landlord...

A lovely Victorian inn in the village of Castine, home of the Maine Maritime Academy on the Penobscot Bay. Very comfortable and well appointed. The pub, festooned with photos/paintings of well known past world leaders, dubbed by the owner, the Good, Bad and Indifferent, is a great spot to enjoy a cocktail. Our breakfasts were excellent. Chat with the owner,...

We truly loved our stay at this peaceful inn. Our room was on the third floor, but climbing the stairs didn't bother us. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was small, but perfect for the two of us. We appreciated the daily breakfast. It was scrumptious and quite filling. I enjoyed reading in the sitting room and sitting...

The third floor was a stretch to get to, but it was lovely. We were in room 9. I would have appreciated blinds to shut out the light, but did get a good night's sleep anyway. The innkeepers are great! The breakfasts are perfectly sized and the variety is there. No TV, so be prepared to read or do whatever...

We were only able to stay one night at this beautiful B&B ,but cant wait to go back. Castine is a very pretty ,small town with lots of history. The Inn is very impressive and right near the water. The bar and restaurant in the Inn served us the most delicious meals! Julie and Jack are wonderful hosts. The room...

We were looking for a unique place to stay after 20+ years of trips to the Maine coast. Conveniently located but not over-run by tourist. The owners and staff provided exceptional service. Rooms were beautiful and the restaurant was excellent. Highly recommended.

This was a quaint Inn off the beaten path. Town was not crowded. We went on walks every morning to different areas of town. There is a very impressive museum in town. There were two nice bars down on the water where we went for adult beverages. Had dinner one night at the Inn. It was amazing. The breakfasts were...

The moment you walk into the Pentogoet Inn you enter a world of civility, intelligence, and comfort. "The Baron," the cozy bar chock-a-block with paintings, books, and keepsakes of the owners, Julie and Jack, is the kind of room one could happily inhabit for the rest of one's life. The rest of the carefully restored inn is more of the...

We had a cozy room on the third floor with a view of the harbor. Everything was lovely. The town of Castine, with its many Elm trees is very picturesque. Maine Maritime Academy is nearby -- we enjoyed seeing their training ship, State of Maine, in the harbor. We loved the mile walk to the Castine lighthouse, where you can...

My husband and I spent two nights here in late September and we had a very enjoyable stay. The hosts were very welcoming and all the staff were friendly and accommodating. The Inn is located in a beautiful historic building and it also has a very nice restaurant that I would recommend. The town of Castine is very charming and...
