We had lunch here while on a drive through the Basque region. The food was authentic and perfectly fine and a reasonable price. The service were a little slow so lunch was longer than I would have liked but is representative of the laid back lifestyle of the Basque region.

A very good location in the centre of Gernika - near tourist office - rooms small and no lift - three floors - but the service top class - ideal place to stay after a day on the Camino Northern Route - and the breakfast - just so much from eggs & bacon to Chocolate cake - the pinchos in...

Stayed one night in a pokey double room on 3rd floor while walking the Camino del Norte. The double bed was uncomfortable for two and the bathroom was in need of a complete renovation. The bar and restaurant were closed the night we stayed and just as well we decided to eat our own breakfast, as there was no sign...

The rooms are small, a bit old but wonderfully clean. After you've walked the Camino - it's all about the welcome - this young couple was helpful, more than helpful in fact. Accommodating for dinner, packed our breakfast and were wonderfully fun. Nice respite after a long day!

Filthy, in terrible repair, unhelpful staff. Location is good but hardly worth it for the condition of the property. No elevator, bathroom is actually gross (bring shower shoes!), furniture is tired, lighting is bad, not enough outlets. Do not stay here.

Hotel in very central location. Rooms seemed to be better on the lower floors. I was in one on 3rd or 4th floor - the decor was almost as tired and old as I was. Could do with a lot of attention. Staff were a mixed bag - some very nice & helpful, one not so nice - unhelpful, disinterested,...

We stayed at this hotel while on our way to Santiago de Compostela by bicycle. The reception is in the bar/restaurant next door, which somehow adds a friendly character to the place. The menu is simple but tasty, and worth every penny, just what you need after a long day of effort. We liked the overall atmosphere at the bar,...

Location for me is always key, so you don't have to waste time getting in and out of a city, and can easily stroll home after dinner. The Hotel Bolina couldn't be better placed, right in the heart of Guernica. Excellent value for money, and made frequent use of the bar's selection of pintxos. Room was pretty basic, but clean,...

i went to the bolina in early january on the last day of fiesta. i found the bar-tender/manager most discourteous, he made me feel as though it was a locals bar and that i was an outsider.i have spanish but he wasnt prepared to listen, i asked if there was any vegetarian food only to be told in a sharp...

The staff at Hotel Bolina went out of their way to make sure that our stay was wonderful. The pintxos at the bar where the best we had in Guernica. The location was perfect, we could walk all over the old part of town, to the shops and restaurants. We were just a 2 minute walk away from the bus...
