First we checked in the office was a dirty, hoarding type room, but still we thought to take a chance on a local owned place because we love small local owned businesses. The grounds looked unkept, nothing like the picture online. But then we walked...More
The price of the rooms should give you a big hint as to what to expect when you show up. Once you realize that this isn't going to be like a Comfort Inn, it's not as terrible as it first seems, and its quirks begin...More

Well, it's definitely run down and hasn't been updated since at least the 70s. You will see water stains on curtains, ceiling tiles, lamp shades, but I haven't noted that the place is dirty. We make a point of staying here when on the way to Acadia simply for the experience of showing our daughter what mom and pop places were like when we grew up. If you don't want any amenities at all and want to stay somewhere that will offer a good story to tell later then book with Doug (the owner/manager)
