We stayed at the Old Saco Inn for several nights while in Fryeburg for our son's wedding. The inn was super and Sandi and Pete were excellent hosts. Each morning while we ate a fabulous breakfast on the porch, we were visited by several hummingbirds. At one point, our party consisted of 15 family and friends in six of the... More

The Lexington room was spacious, the sleeping area...clean and a comfortable mattress. A private outdoor patio to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Pete and Sandi - The Inn administrators are extremely personable. They did their best to make our stay pleasant and memorable. They succeeded. Can't say enough to justify the property. Spectacular.

Big piece of property on the Saco River with the buildings about 1/2 mile from the road. Very secluded and tranquil. Saw hummingbirds in the garden while eating breakfast. We stayed in the Sweden suite -- big and airy. Two skylights for ventilation when it's not warm enough for the air conditioner. Nice deck overlooking the woods and driving range.... More

Stayed here while visiting family that has a cabin on a pond a short distance away in Fryeburg. So glad we picked this gem of a place to stay. Beautiful location, quiet, comfortable spacious rooms-several activities to partake in if you wish, or you can just sit outside and enjoy the scenery -very peaceful. Pete and Sandi do a wonderful... Pete and Sandi are wonderful host and the Inn is spectacular. I got there in the afternoon for an overnight stay on a business trip. My short time there felt like a mini vacation. I loved eating breakfast on the screen porch watching the hummingbirds outside in the garden. The Old Saco Inn is one of the best country getaways... More

This place was wonderful! The location was perfect. Everything we wanted to do was located within an hour of the Inn. The Inn was beautiful and so well kept. There was a lot to do right on site. You can canoe or kayak Saco, and they even have great walking trails. The room (Emma's loft) was beautiful, spacious, and impeccably... More

Dear L & L, Thanks for your valuable feedback and kind words, and we enjoyed having you both to stay. For others reading this review and expecting to launch directly into the Saco River, I have one tiny definition to make - we are on the banks of the Old course of the Saco River (Old Saco), which diverts from... My wife, daughter and myself stayed in the Lexington room while we were in Maine for a wedding in nearby Brownsfield. The room is in the Carriage House, a beautifully converted old horse stable. It is quite modern and comfortable with a very historic feel. More importantly, the owners Peter and Sandy, are two of the nicest and helpful people.... More

Stayed here recently with my family. The grounds and scenery are absolutely beautiful. The river is just a few steps from the main building and they have boats for you to use while staying at the inn. The owners also created a driving range in back of the main inn. We stayed in Emma's loft and it worked out very... More

We were in the Fryeburg area to visit our son at a nearby summer camp. We had driven down from Quebec in the pouring rain and missed our dinner reservation. Sandi and Pete made us feel so welcome; even though the kitchen had closed they put together a lovely supper--the most delicious strawberry soup! The Inn is friendly and cozy,... More

The scenery is absolutely idyllic when you pull up to this lovely inn, in the middle of Fryeburg, Maine. Upon arrival, our hosts graciously offered us drinks, showed us the driving range, and made us feel right at home. The room in which we stayed was a converted horse stable with a spacious bathroom and a charming bedroom. Just a... More
