Late mid-winter trip as part of a men's group. Incredible experience. The lodge and cabins are comfortable - rustic but well appointed. The staff could not be more attentive and professional. The food was far better than I expected. And the options for activities in the area are superb - starting with the unparalleled Gulf Hagas. Do not miss this...

I went to Little Lyford as part of an AMC trip last weekend. The camp has exceptional food and good guides. We went to Gulf Hagas, a canyon a few miles away be ski and show shoe. Great views of water flowing in the middle of winter. Signs of river otters. Challenging skiing and show shoeing. We had to break...

We stayed at Little Lyford Lodge and Cabins for one night as part of a 3-day cross-country ski adventure in the Maine woods. The staff are very friendly and accommodating with maps and suggestions. The main lodge has coffee, tea, hot chocolate and GORP available a day. - Miles and miles of groomed (not tracked) trails - Cozy cabins with...

My husband and I love to enjoy the great outdoors here in winter where we can hang out in a rustic setting with the right amount of comfort. Sweet cabin with wood stove, great meals, sauna. The staff couldn't be more accommodating. Always fun to make it a hut to hut ski with Gorman Chairback Lodge. AMC will take your...

We have been to Little Lyford several times over the years. In winter, we ski in. Last weekend, the snow was fabulous! Even when the snow is not perfect, the AMC staff run snow mobiles through so you can ski on those tracks. If the weather is really, really bad, they can bring people in on snow mobile. We all...

This is classic AMC-style service and ambiance. You get more than you pay for! Fee includes hearty delicious dinner, hot breakfast, sack lunch to order, your gear snowmobiled to the main lodge, morning weather report, a naturalist presentation most evenings and expert advice on trail conditions and recommended routes. Our group was large enough that we had the bunkhouse to...

My husband and I stayed one night in the Green Drake cabin. The cabins are rustic but comfortable and they had a fire going for us when we arrived. The staff was awesome and cooked up some amazing meals. We highly recommend a visit!

I spent a night in the Little Lyford bunkhouse with 8 friends. We loved our experience there. The winter x-country ski trails are groomed daily. The lodge felt very remote and rustic. We headed to Gorman the next day and it was nicer, newer, and busier, but there was something perfect about Little Lyford.

Spent one night at Little Lyford Lodge, part of the Appalachian Mountain club's group of facilities in the Moosehead Lake area of Maine. From the very start I knew we were in good hands; warmly greeted the camp crew who attended to all of our needs, answered our questions and prepared our delicious and generous meals and made us feel...

My wife, myself and our two dogs spent 3 night during the mid-week last week here. The staff were super accommodating giving us a ride in using the pod to get us to the cabins in time for dinner our first night. They had our cabin warmed up and ready to go when we arrived. The meals were stupendous and...
