First of all, I have to say that some of the reviews here seem to have the Monhegan House confused with the Island Inn! I'm reading about the fabulous lobster scrambled eggs at breakfast served in the fabulous dining room overlooking the harbor - both are amenities of the ISLAND INN and NOT the Monhegan House, as the Monhegan House's...

We had a lovely stay at Monhegan House while enjoying a weekend on Monhegan. Clean, comfortable, simply appointed room with excellent mattress and bedding. Love how they transported our luggage to and from the ferry. And a delicious breakfast was included in the room rate. We will stay here again on our next visit to Monhegan.

We ate dinner and breakfast here where the service and food was excellent. The Monhegan House fits in with the beauty and charm of this unique area. Our dinner consisted of small plates with a variety of seafood items. The lobster wontons were delicious in a tasty broth. At breakfast, we had a wait to be seated, the server brought...

This charming island is not to be missed. There are several places to stay, but Monhegan House was our choice, and we do not hesitate to recommend it. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the included breakfast is excellent. Bathrooms are shared, but some were always available and spotlessly clean. The porch has rockers for relaxing, and the common...

Just visited Monhegan Island for the first time. We loved it, and would definitely go back but not to the Monhegan House. For starters, because it was probably initially constructed as a rooming house, the walls are incredibly thin, so thin that when I woke up in the middle of the night I could hear the person in the next...

The Monhegan House is my favorite place to stay when I visit the island. Id recommend everyone to stay here. People really do stay quite after 9pm and are fairly quite in the morning as well. The fridges are convenient and have ice. Just make sure you label your items. They have very reasonable rates as well as The Novelty...

Visited the Monhegan House this summer and was pleasantly surprised by the suite we had. We didn't spend much time inside as the weather was beautiful, but the sitting room, bedroom, bathroom, and deck were great. The complimentary breakfast was excellent. Different specials each day, and the food was very good. There is a small take out place behind the...

I can't say enough about the comfort, cleanliness, hospitality of this lodging. And the food at breakfast was done with care. Service oriented with an aim to please in laid back fashion, Hike, take in local flavor by just sitting on the porch with a bottle of wine you bring from home or purchase at local store

I am a hotel owner in NH and was in need of some R&R for myself after a very busy summer of innkeeping. I decided to take a short trip to Monhegan Island, where I had never been before, but had heard much about. It was EXACTLY what I needed ... like stepping back in time to a gentler, more...

Visited Monhegan House this summer after reading reviews and was surprised to find a room with a tired mattress and thin towels. The only amenity in the room was a box of Kleenex. The room was partially cleaned once during the entire stay. The waste basket was never emptied at all. All bathroom facilities are shared. Staff was indifferent at...
