This is setup like a typical 2 story "motel" or "Inn". But the quality is very high. NICE and clean and crisp. VERY friendly & entertaining staff. They have TWO outdoor and ONE indoor pool. The outdoor ones were nicely heated. Though they were completely booked, there was never a feeling of being crowded. We were the only ones at the pool. Negatives: Very few. I get up at 4.30 and the fitness room doesn't open until 7, (8 a.m. for the pool) That's BRUTALLY late for most fitness enthusiasts who, when traveling, like to get their workouts done early. It's like having a breakfast diner that doesn't open until 10. Same with pool. I know there's safety issues, but it would be nice to soak in the hot tub or have a dip at 6 or 7 a.m. Location was decent, right across the street from The Front Yard and 3-10 minute walk to at least 20 good restaurants. The only reason we would not stay here again is that it's not directly on the ocean but it IS a very manageable walk to the main entrance to Ongunguit beach. Classy place that does a great job

Hotel's Favourite
My husband and I went back to Ogunquit Labor Day weekend after being there about a month before, both times staying at the JHI. We stayed there in 2019 too. We have decided that this will be "our hotel" for our annual trip(s) to Ogunquit. The staff is very friendly, the hotel itself and our rooms have been extremely clean and well-kept and very easily accessible as well. With the pandemic still in full-force, we've felt safe and had no issues. You can't beat the location, we arrive and park our car for the entire time, being able to walk across the street for breakfast, walk to the beach and not have to pay for parking (like we used to when staying elsewhere), walk into the village each night for dinner it is very very convenient. I cannot comment on the pool as we are beach-lovers and haven't been in the pool but it looks very nice. Thank you again JHI for a great stay - looking forward to our trip in 2021!

Four couples stayed here and all thought it was great. Great location, walking distance to much of Ogunquit. Very clean, professional staff, rooms were a great size, some sitting areas outside. We walked to the Marginal Way and the beach. The hotel is about 5 minutes from the heart of downtown. There is no breakfast but you are given a 20% off voucher for Raspberri's right down the street. NOTE: The restaurant does not have prices on its website but it is very reasonable with good choices and portions. OGUNQUIT in September- most restaurants close VERY EARLY so check beforehand.

We missed our annual jaunt to Maine in 2020, but made it this year and spent four of six in-state nights at the Juniper Hill. We were pleased to re-acquaint ourselves with General Manager Alex Bordas and chat with the friendly front-desk staff. The only concession to COVID was the suspension of the regular continental-breakfast service -- a compensatory discount was offered for the eatery at a nearby sister hotel. The Juniper Hill's use of cotton-polyester bedding obliged my poly-allergic wife to bring and employ her own all-cotton sheets and towels. I'm continually surprised that all-cotton towels and linens are not an option in most hotels, but this appears to be SOP in the U.S., despite what I imagine is a not-insignificant population of poly-avoiding travelers who would respond to the prospect of 100%-cotton products. Otherwise, the Juniper Hill's indoor and outdoor pools, the accommodations, staffing and the handy shortcut path to the beach remained the same -- excellent.

Very happy with Juniper Hill. Had stayed here many yrs ago. Staff very courteous and our room was very, very clean. Great location. Off street parking. Well marked. Ogunquit is my favorite place. Did not expect it to be so crowded! Guess when all the families head back to school ….us “older” people hit the road! Could not even park down at Perkins Cove but fortunately our motel was within walking distance. The breakfast area is not open yet due to Covid restraints but were given a discount for Rasberries down the road. We opted for the “Egg and I” restaurant that we have frequented before…it’s great! Only a bit further north on Rt 1.
