The room is comfortable and clean. The breakfast is good. The staff was courteous and helpful. The location is easy. If that is what you want, then this is the place for you. Next time I come to Orono I will stay here again for...More
Stayed while visiting my daughter. Had a beautiful view of the river and the staff was wonderful and friendly. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. They do allow dogs in some rooms. Stayed in one the last time and the room was also very...More
I reserved a block of 20 rooms for my daughter's wedding last month at the University Inn Academic Suites at Orono-- and all our many friends and family stayed at this hotel. I could have booked at one of the chain hotels in Bangor- but...More

Comfortable beds, nice bathroom accommodations, great continental breakfast, and convenient location to restaurants, shopping, and campus. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, as I was in town with friends for a race at UMaine Orono.
great location, easy to walk to room, friendly staff, clean rooms, nice temperature of the room, quiet, good food. only things I would change is having an indoor pool, softer beds. price was reasonable though and so I would recommend.

The campus is quite safe. Police on campus and in the town of Orono are always out patrolling the area and there are emergency beacons throughout campus (with a dedicated 24/7 campus police force as well). Orono, by and large, has a pretty low crime rate.
Cold weather on campus affects student life in the same way it would anywhere else. Though there is a shuttle that services campus, freedom to travel to off-campus locations is pretty limited without a car. As such, winter driving can be an issue if you are not familiar with driving in the snow. Regardless, the roads are pretty well taken care of, especially on campus.
Thank you for your interest in our beautiful town!
