Had a delightful stay at the Inn On Carleton on a cold winter weekend. Tucked away on a quiet side-street in the West End, the Inn is very walkable to all the action without being surrounded by rowdy nightlife. Tons of great spots for lunch, dinner, and caffeine right around the corner. We had a very comfortable room and appreciated...

This inn is comfortable and cozy, with beautiful décor and a fabulous breakfast! Great location... walking distance to restaurants, the Museum of Art, downtown. We got lots of helpful advice about Portland from the innkeeper, Leo.

From the moment we walked in the door we knew we were in for a comfortable stay. We had only one night and left wishing we were there longer. The breakfast was excellent, the setting had an understated elegance and the innkeepers Leo and Patti were a joy.

A really great Victorian bed and breakfast with all the modern amenities and a fantastic and very high quality gourmet breakfast. Just a few minutes from downtown Portland, Maine and minutes off the highway.

Thank you for staying with us with spring around the corner but Old Man winter here still in Portland, Maine. This old great, stately town home is unbelievably cozy with fireplaces in each of the rooms to keep all of our guests warm at night. Indeed the guest rooms are tastefully decorated with all the modern amenities you have in...

We spent a delightful weekend at the Inn On Carleton in late February 2017. The Inn is centrally located in the historic Arts District and an easy walking distance to many excellent restaurants and sites of interest. Portland, much to our surprise, is a wonderful little city to explore and a great place for foodies. The rooms in the Inn...

Thank you for your kind comments regarding your stay at the inn. The location here is truly ideal a bit away from the Old Port but so close to great places just blocks away from Longfellow Square named after that great American author. But by the way also just a ten minute walk to tour his home. The restaurants here...

We had an awesome stay at the Inn. The location is great within walking distance to great restaurants and downtown. The gourmet breakfast was wonderful. Leo gave great restaurant and sightseeing suggestions. Saturday & Sunday morning included a serenade on the piano while we ate. We would definitely stay again. Cathy M.

Appreciate your feedback always and please do come back in another season. Portland has something to offer in every season. David does pop in from time to time to play and sing some of his show tunes for a guests to hear. Lucky you!

Inn on Carelton is the perfect little getaway B&B in Portland. The hosts are very nice, willing to be as involved and offer advice or as left alone as you want. The Inn is within walking distance to restaurants and bars. Breakfast is included and is delicious!

We stayed at the Inn for two nights during a visit to the area. Leo was very accommodating with his knowledge of the area and suggestions on what to see and where to eat. It was a healthy walk to downtown only because of the brisk weather, but it really is in a nice location as far as walking distance...

Here in the West End is an ideal location to take in the best of Portland just a wee bit quieter but still offering fantastic restaurants within minutes and the Portland art museum as well as the Longfellow House just ten minutes walking distance to pop in. Appreciate your kind comments and staying with us.

Kind innkeepers, delicious breakfast, clean rooms and walking distance to Old Port. My wife and I had a wonderful stay for a single night. We drove to Portland on a whim and rang the Inn on Carleton's bell hoping for vacancy. They were quite accommodating. Really though, the first sentence . subject says it all.

We love walk-ins. To show you our inn is our pleasure. One night however is not enough even in the off season. Please come back again sometime to really take in what Portland has to offer. Thanks for staying with us.

We always wanted to visit New England and experience this part of our nation. The trip was delightful, the lighthouses were fabulous, and the Inn on Carleton was a great place to stay. There were several nice restaurants in walking distance as well.

Portland is still beautiful in the winter months with snow to take in the coastline and lighthouses. The fresh air is delightful and invigorating and then to come back to a cozy inn is just so special. Thanks for letting us know how much you liked your stay here.
