We stayed here so that we were close to the Baseball ground but it was also quite easy to walk into Portland centre. Charming area - some houses a little shabby but some, such as Morrill Mansion, refurbished to a high standard. The owner was friendly & welcoming & very helpful with local details. The room was smallish with a... More

Bed and breakfasts don't always suit this traveling duo as we like to sleep in separate beds but in the same room. Morrill Mansion has two rooms that include a daybed in an adjoining room. I saw the description of the room online but there weren't pictures to see if it was really a small space to tuck in a... More

We had never stayed in a B & B but we were pleasantly surprised. The B&B is in a residential neighborhood but within walking distance to several restaurants and the art museum. Breakfast is fantastic. There was fresh fruit, pancakes with a hot blueberry sauce, homemade muffins, boiled eggs, and a custard with fresh raspberries. Yum! In the afternoon, they... More

I called about staying for a weekend in August, as well as inquiry about transportation .. I asked if there was transportation from the Portland Transportation Center (I was taking the Amtrak to Portland) and the owner ignored my question and said yes, there is bus transportation around town. I then ask specifically if there is public transportation from the... More

Please accept my apologies if my answers fell short of your expectations, but I was in no way rude nor did I ignore any of your questions. You asked if there was public transportation from the Amtrak station, and I replied yes, taxi service is about $4-5 to the bed and breakfast, and that there was also bus transportation but... More

I have stayed here two times so far when I have visited Portland. The rooms have been quiet, clean and comfortable. The inn is beautifully decorated with attention to details for the guests. The inn keeper is friendly and welcoming. The breakfast is delicious with a nice variety of choices. In the afternoon you can enjoy tea and cookies. It... More

Great place! Breakfast was great and the rooms are perfect! The location is a few blocks from the action, which is perfect because it is quiet when you want it and when you are in the mood for action, it's just a short walk. Very friendly and clean and the rates are perfect for the room and atmosphere.

We really enjoyed our stay for one night in the Vaughan room. Everything was clean, neat, and well decorated. Breakfast was very, very, good. Everything was top notch. Even the parking area was attractive with granite parking blocks and well manicured gardens. If I ever return to this area the Morrill will be my first choice to stay.

The Morrill Mansion is a stately gem in the lovely Old Port area. We stayed in the Marston room - one of the least expensive rooms - and it was wonderful! Beautiful and comfortable with so many nice touches. The bathroom was high end with beautiful travertine tile and a pebble-floored shower. David was a friendly host and the breakfast... More

My husband and I stayed at the Morrill Mansion for two nights when we were on a weeklong vacation in Maine. We definitely wish we would've been able to stay the entire week here! The mansion is beautiful and very well kept, and it's in a quiet residential area, but it's within walking distance of the Old Port, downtown, etc.... More
