We really enjoyed the hotel with its modern/industrial design. The lobby area was spotless and beautiful and our room was stunning in its simplicity. We enjoyed the artwork displayed throughout the hotel and made a point of visiting each floor to see what was on the wall. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The building's location is in a somewhat run-down part of town near the waterfront but it was an easy walk to restaurants like Cafe Miranda and the Brass Cafe. Primo is a not-to-miss James Beard award winning restaurant just a few minutes drive away (if you are fortunate enough to secure a reservation!).

Hotel's Favourite
250 Main remains perfect in nearly every way! We've been staying here twice a year since our first visit in 2016 and we can't wait to return. Our 4 night stay here last week was once again - fantastic! Great location, awesome staff, 'spectacular' views, love the modern-meets-industrial design elements, museum quality art displayed throughout, strong Rock City coffee for those 4:30am sunrise photo ops, whimsical graphics (on keycards, door cards, stair risers) and did I mention the awesome staff and views?! We'll be booking again for later this year (and next) and look forward to our next visit!

TravelingPro, This review means a lot from you. We also can't wait til you return! Thank you for picking up on some of our subtler details, like our playful print materials and the strength of our custom coffee blend. The quotes on the stairs are fun too - we're so glad you enjoyed it all. Stay well and see you this Fall! All the best, Ruth & The 250 Crew

We have stayed at this hotel a few times and each time we remark about what a wonderful gem this hotel is on the coast of Maine. At this point we believe it is our very favorite in the entire area. One reason is the great staff. For the first time we had a heating problem in our room, Orlando gave us immediate attention and when we couldn't solve the issue quickly, he without reservation moved us to another stunning room with amazing views. The rooms, breakfast and cocktail hour make the hotel feel very welcoming and cozy. We love the art on the walls and the always ready to go chess game.

One of the most thoughtfully created hotels in New England, the bed, bathroom, lobby all feel like home and radiate comfort and ease without being over the top expensive. It isn't that everything is perfect, a shade was flawed, we struggled to work the heat one evening, it is just that the general thoughtfulness is far beyond most hotels. Being independently owned is a wonderful plus as well, not owned by a conglomerate.

I’ve stayed here now multiple times. It’s all been a mixed bag. The first time I stayed there, while checking in I mentioned that the painting over the fireplace was by a friend of mine, the person at the desk laughed and was like, “sure he is”. He is. The second time was better, the person that checked me on was warm, helpful and NICE. This last time, which was last week, I stayed there as I was in town visiting for Hospitality Maine’s annual summit at the samoset- we wanted to mix it up a bit and try a few local lodging options. the lady that checked us in was cold, unfriendly, and acted like she didn’t want us staying there. She was unhelpful when we were asking about suggestions for local things to do and eat. Zero hospitality! Additionally, their water machine wasn’t working and they didn’t offer a room alternative nor were they helpful when I inquired about getting some water. The soap/conditioner/ body wash console in the shower came tumbling off the wall after one pump as it was adhered only to the tiled bathroom wall by double sided tape. Overall, it can be a nice place to stay but they should really invest in some hospitality training for their staff. I’ve stayed other places locally, in Camden, and the staff at those local hotels are- 1)always are warm, friendly, and inviting with a smile on their face 2)will go above and beyond assisting, helping, and making a customers stay pleasant- this has not been our experience at 250; and it’s too bad.
