From the moment you enter the front door, the Samoset and her staff begin to spoil you. But remember you deserve it!. We try to visit twice a year and it is a major family event. The spa and gym facilities were a fabulous distraction from the chilling temperatures outside. We relaxed and worked up quite the appetite for dinner...

I have visited the Samoset twice. My son's hockey team has tournaments in the Rockland area and the Samoset is an excellent place to stay for that purpose. The ocean view is beautiful. People are friendly and generally helpful. I did run into a situation where no one was available to help me look in the lost and found as...

We have visited the Samoset Resort on the Ocean many times, having stayed here in August and each year on the the first weekend in March for the Maine Fishermen’s Forum. We have also come here to meet friends for lunch or dinner at La Bella Vita or a drink at Enoteca or By the Splash bar while they were...

My husband and I enjoyed a winter "spa" get away @ Samoset. The room was spacious with gorgeous views of the ocean. The restaurant and bar were lovely...food and service was spot on. Our spa treatment (couples massage) was lovely...and we enjoyed time in the fitness center, pool and hot tub. Facilities were updated and clean...and staff was very attentive...

We came as a couple and picked Samoset for the outstanding golf course. I came for the beautiful cool Maine weather leaving behind high 90's in Fl. We had a golf course view as well as overlooking the Penobscot Bay. It was truly a beautiful place. The rooms, while small, are well appointed. The "Breakwater" is a thing to behold....

Rooms are spacious. Excellent of the water. Restaurant and bar were outstanding. All facilities available spa, gun. pool, hot tub etc. Service excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. We were there in the winter so we didn't get a chance to go outside. However the grounds are beautiful. Would have like to walk the mile long breakwater but it was...

A group of family and friends spent a weekend at the Samoset Resort during school vacation. It was a very busy weekend for the hotel, yet we still were treated wonderfully by the wait staff, front desk, pool and other staff. Dinner at La Bella Vita was delicious, with something for everyone in our diverse group: options included creative kids'...

Stayed in room with hot tub on deck. Was perfect for winter weekend getaways. Rooms had a little bit of a funny smell when we first checked in, but otherwise nice. Grounds are beautiful. Worth walking out the to breakwater lighthouse

This oceanside resort boasts something for everyone, from it's fabulous spa, to it's world-renowned golf course to it's indoor and outdoors pools and it's delicious food. In January, plan to spend some time at their ice bar, always an experience whenever you go on the two weekends it is open. Winter weather permitting, they may have an ice skating rink...

Dear PamV45, Thank you for taking the time to write your review of the Samoset Resort. I appreciate your mentioning how much there is to do year round. We’re beginning to dream of the golf course and outdoor pool so thank you for the reminder that spring is almost around the corner. With Warm Hospitality, Cornelius J. Russell

Arrived to find a "We'll be back later" sign on the front desk. Thank goodness for the other guest that told me that you had to check in at the other end of the resort at the Health Club. Schlepped to the club dragging my suitcase. Employee didn't seem to get the problem with making guests walk a long distance....

Dear ckm1956, We are truly sorry for the inconvenience of your check-in process. During the winter months the main resort is closed during the week and our Front Desk does indeed operate out of our fitness area. While we are normally diligent and expedient on Sunday afternoons with placing numerous signs to direct traffic in the driveway to the fitness...
