Four years ago we discovered this gem. Now we don't even think about going anywhere else! The staff is wonderful, the inn is fabulous, the views are breathtaking, the beach is sandy (not rocky) & the waves are smashing! Clean, beautiful rooms, homemade breakfasts - muffins baked daily- and easy parking make this destination our favorite. The Breakers Inn is...

From the beginning of the wedding planning to the end of our wedding weekend, Rodney (the owner) was kind, helpful and very accommodating. The Breakers Inn is a beautiful bed and breakfast with New England charm that is not easy to find these days and we now have some of our happiest memories there! I can't wait to return for...

You can't beat the location of the Breakers. Higgins beach is the perfect, peaceful, non-commercialized beach neighborhood and its only a short drive from Portland if you're looking for a great restaurant. The views from every room are amazing and Rodney is so welcoming (and he makes a great breakfast). The prices are very reasonable for an ocean-front B&B. I...

Best views of the morning sun & the waves coming onto shore from the ocean all from looking out of my room windows on the second floor & on the beach. Clean, comfortable, inviting & most of all relaxing. Early morning walks on the beach listening to the surf, the birds & the wind. Watching the ripples in the small...

The Breakers Inn is in a perfect location right next to the seafront at Higgis breach. The sunrise we saw from our specious and comfortable room was spectacular. Great breakfast. Fabulous accommodation!

The Breakers Inn is the kind of place often described as 'a throwback to a better time' - but would stand out in any era. Owner Rodney Laughton - whose family have run it for decades - is an innkeeper extraordinaire - engaged, efficient, always attentive to the wishes and needs of his clientele, many of who have come for...

A remarkable place that balances the vibe of a traditional New England inn with wifi and every modern convenience. It is simply and cosily appointed. The breakfast is absolutely astonishing - home made muffins and perfect porridge emerge from the most spotless kitchen you'll ever see (the whole place is spotless!). The lunchtime lobster rolls are the best you'll ever...

Two weeks ago I was at Claridges in London. Today, at The Breakers. One is all obsequious service and gilding. The other is plain and friendly. Each is exceptional of its type. I'll take The Breakers any day. This is not really a bed and breakfast. It's not someone's house masquerading as an Inn. You don't have to eat with...

As our first bed and breakfast experience The Breakers Inn has set the bar high! Check in was quick and easy which allowed us ample time to lounge on the beach before heading into town for dinner. The beach is mere steps away from the front door and the outdoor shower was perfect for rinsing off before coming back inside....

I have gone with a friend to The Breakers for more years than I can remember. It never fails to reduce my blood pressure. It is like stepping back in time to a simpler, slower way of life. The Inn is old, but very well maintained. Many of the rooms are up one or two flights of stairs (no elevator)...
