We have stayed in two of the cottages at the Claremont and while we had a pleasurable first visit in the C2 cottage (which was recently renovated and clean) our most recent visit in C4 was highly disappointing. The furnishings were old and flimsy. But...More
Wonderful hotel charm location and view. This hotel has amazing views elegant dining room and classic charm. The rooms are well proportioned, nicely decorated and the bathrooms were clean. If you are looking for a classic hotel this is the one!

We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit that had view of the sound from the master bedroom, living room and deck. There was a wood-burning fireplace in the living room, full kitchen and large deck with table for 4. There are some units right on the water, but not sure if they have gas or wood fireplaces. Beal's lobster pier is short walk away and is excellent. Thurston's lobster pound is about 15-minute drive and is also excellent.
