We were advised to enjoy a drink and watch the sunset but skip dinner. We missed the sunset but decided to stop by for a drink and possible meal. Dining room was empty. When we asked to see a menu at 7:22 pm we were...More
Beautiful property, great views and many seats on the large porches and lawns to enjoy. Room in Philips Cottage was roomy and comfortable, rustic, especially without a tv. Loved the breakfasts, the fireplaces in the common rooms. Played tennis but didn't get to enjoy the...More
The Claremont Hotel was a complete pleasure to visit. I’ve been there three times the past few years and hope to make staying there an annual event, as many of its guests seem to. Quietly elegant but without pretension or snootiness, I was instantly comfortable....More

We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit that had view of the sound from the master bedroom, living room and deck. There was a wood-burning fireplace in the living room, full kitchen and large deck with table for 4. There are some units right on the water, but not sure if they have gas or wood fireplaces. Beal's lobster pier is short walk away and is excellent. Thurston's lobster pound is about 15-minute drive and is also excellent.
