I stayed at the Lighthouse inn for my wedding weekend, and the place was perfect! The September rates were beyond affordable , and the place was kept very clean. Also, the manager was open to letting us use the common areas for group socializing, and while we didn't end up taking full advantage, we did grab some last minute bagels, and we were able to put the food out in the lobby and eat on the patio tables just outside. Oh, and we were given permission to store some food and flowers for our welcome event and for the wedding in one of the employee refrigerators. (Be aware that the lobby area closes at 9pm, so there's no access to that space or those refrigerators overnight.) In addition to the accommodating staff, my carriage house room was beautiful and spacious, and the larger adjoining rooms my family reserved were lovely and spacious as well; perfect for getting ready. Friends who stayed in the standard rooms also seemed very happy with the space. My only suggestion to the hotel would be to add some full-length mirrors. The location is great, too. Because it's off the main road, the hotel property is very quiet, but it's also a very short walk to the edge of Long Sands beach, which was perfect for morning beach strolls in advance of our festivities (and, for a normal vacation, just for going to the beach). The general store by the beach was a reasonably short walk for breakfast or some coffee (the hotel also brews coffee, but no decaf). Overall, I absolutely loved my stay at Lighthouse and hope to return there in the future.

The owner was very helpful and gave us very good recommendations for the area. The Inn was perfectly located near the beach & lighthouse. The rooms was tastefully decorated and a nice size. Beds were very comfortable. I wish we could have stayed longer.

My two sisters, myself, and my Mom stayed at the Lighthouse Inn from July 21-23 to celebrate my mom's birthday. Let me preface this review by saying that my family and I have stayed at this property dozens of times under all different owners: Randal, who should have never been in the hospitality business to begin with. A nasty and mean old man with a dagger finger. After Randal, Diane was running this place. Diane put a beautiful touch one a once grimey property. This stay, was under a new set of owners who I was unable to meet. My sister had booked this trip about two years ago; it was bumped one year due to Covid but she had booked the separate suite with the private parking spot. Upon check in, we were told we were not in the suite and were placed in horrid room 23. This room was on the back sight of the property and was facing the parking garage. Not at all what we were expecting. We were just happy to be at the beach so we check in. The 2 queen beds were 2 full beds; I measured. Extremely small. The room was extremely small. Sitting from the bed, I could not see anything on the about 20 inch television. There were no extra blankets and the emergency handle in the shower was falling off. On the morning of my Mom's birthday, she went to the office area to get what was once a grab and go breakfast of yogurts, granola bars, muffins, coffee and tea. Completely gone...not a coffee to be had. The jacuzzi is over 10 years old and had skin particles floating in it. The pool is warm but small and needs some cosmetic work. Diane added a friendly touch, you would always see her on the property with a smile. It just seems that this place is lacking the luster and is one of the most basic accommodation places in York. I hope to see some more love and care put into the property. Those back rooms on that parking lot side have a horrible motel feel--you do not feel like you are at the beach at all. Avoid rooms 20-24! Perfect walking distance to Long Sands.

Quick walk to beach, in a quiet location with parking. Pool and hot tub were nice to have. Room was spacious, but pretty plain and could use some updating. Rooms are also not very sound proof…we were on the first floor and basically had to get up when our upstairs neighbors started stomping around in the morning. WiFi was also pretty spotty.

Spent 3 nights and we were very happy with our stay. The hotel was quiet, lots of free parking, very close walk to Long Sands Beach and downtown. The rooms were clean and big enough for our family of 4. My boys enjoyed the heated pool. We will stay here again if we are in the area.
