We stayed in the Reed room. It is beautifully appointed and we appreciated all the little details. The house is gorgeous, the hosts are friendly and knowledgeable about the area, and the food is fantastic! Tracy and Jim were very kind and thoughtful. They attended to our every need. I would absolutely stay here again.

This place is wonderful! The rooms, parlors and cottage are warm and cozy and the owners are incredible! It could not have been a more perfect place for a wedding. I will be going back for some "me" time! I highly recommend this to everyone for weddings, parties or even just a quick getaway.

We have visited Capt. Jim and Tracy's Inn before, and had such a great time that we were really looking forward to a return trip. As expected, the whole stay was amazing and it was all due to Jim and Tracy's impeccable attention to detail, engaging and interesting stories, and of course the delicious cooking! We stayed in the main... More

This was the 2nd wedding we had at the inn. The historic property and inn are beautiful! The inn was full of historical artifacts, very clean and very comfortable. The rooms were immaculate and elegantly decorated. Inn keepers Jim and Tracy were so helpful and attentive- stepping in wherever they were needed, going above and beyond, very willing to help!... This was my third experience at The Inn and I can not even begin to explain how amazing it is. Jim and Tracey open their arms and treat you like family from the second you arrive until the minute you leave. The Inn is a part of Maryland history that you are reminded of at every turn. You could spend... More

Again, I returned to the Inn for a Knitting Retreat. It was like going to the home of old friends. They remembered those of us who had been there the prior year, including the fact that I am the "gluten free" person. There is nothing Jim and Tracy would not do for their guests. I cannot wait to go back... More

My husband and I visited the Inn at Mitchell House the weekend of November 13th-15th, 2015. We had a wonderful time and greatly enjoyed our visit! Jim and Tracy, owners, were very helpful in guiding us to events around historic Chestertown. Also, the food was fabulous!! We will definitely visit there again!

I love everything about this inn: the expansive and beautiful grounds, the clear love of history and the outdoors by the innkeepers, the delicious breakfast. The innkeepers are kind and accommodating. This inn has become a regular stop for me when I travel home with my girls along an East Coast route.

My wife and I and grown kids wanted a chance to get away from our busy lives for a few days and discovered this wonderful inn on the eastern shore of Maryland near Chestertown. A historical site where a wounded British soldier died during the War of 1812, the Inn at Mitchell House combines high rustic (if there is such... More

We spent a couple of days/nights in this lovely B&B and enjoyed everything about it. We were with a group of friends, and their living rooms couldn't have been more welcoming and comfortable. The bedrooms were nicely furnished, as was the whole Inn - - with many interesting objects and books, but without being overstuffed or fussy. Breakfasts were delicious.... More
