Visited as a family of four during half term. Service really was excellent, relaxed friendly and attentive. Portions were generous and coffee excellent. Great food and sensibly priced. Enjoyed a walk around the beautiful village afterwards.

We booked to stay after being given a gift of a tour of the local winery. We chose to stay here as it was reasonably close as the winery B&B was full. Before the stay I was emailed to see if we wanted to book a table for the evening (as it was Valentine's Day) and I mentioned we would...

We booked here for lunch as our friends had a booking at The chiltern brewery, we had Sunday roast which was lovely, great flavours and friendly staff, parking was a little tricky as it was fully booked but we managed to find a spot.

I understand this place has just changed hands... Didn't go there before but I have to say I'm very impressed with what I just experienced. The interior is a bit weird but that'll change I'm sure. Nice local clientele and very friendly helpful smiley staff. Some lovely dogs around as well. Little jam jars of the ales so you can...

Dear simonb503, Thank you for your very generous review of your dinner. We are all so please that your party enjoyed themselves. The fact that you have picked up on many small details (Beetroot Sorbet, Kilner Jars of our Real Beer on display, Gin Cured Salmon), and that these contributed to your overall experience, is testament to the hard work...

the warm friendly welcome you get when you arrive at the Stag is fantastic, the staff treat you in a professional but friendly/relaxed way. There are separate little areas where you can drink or eat depending on what takes your fancy, the restaurant is also spacious and a nice setting. The sunday roast is 10 out of 10, but having...

The Stag and Huntsman is a lovely country pub/restaurant/hotel which has been refurbished to a very high standard, overall and our stay was most satisfactory in all but one respect (see my comments in the second box). The staff were welcoming and extremely helpful and our room stylish, in an olde-worlde kind of way, spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The...

Table of 6 of us went in after hearing it had been recently taken over by new management. The decor is homely and has a gorgeous "country inn feel" to it. Service was smooth and polite, but the stand out point was the food quality. The goats cheese bon bon to start was some of the nicest I have ever...

We stayed here overnight for a wedding so a flying visit. The room was well appointed, good bathroom and shower and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty so would be happy to recommend.
