Stay away people! This hotel is outdated and needs work! Second day here we had no water from a water main break which in their defense things like this do happen, unfortunately we could not get ready to go out for dinner that evening. As far as cleanliness there was food, litter, hair and sand in the elevators and hallways were a mess with food! Totally uncalled for! If you’re online looking at the pictures you’re going to be disappointed when you get here, it’s nothing like what you see on the Internet. I have to laugh when I see the posts on Facebook they make it look a lot different than what it is. After staying here and seeing this mess I can’t believe this Hotel is charging what they’re charging! I think the owners should spend more time at their Hotel and see what I see! There’s a lot more nicer places to stay for a lot less money!

First let me start out by saying how skeptical my wife and I were at staying here due to highly negative reviews. I went on Facebook and followed princess royals and you can see all the live tours of the place and the new features being added it put all my worries to rest. My family and I stayed for 5 nights and we had an amazing time. If you are looking for a place that is very family friendly relaxed atmosphere look no further. Having direct access to the beach was amazing. All the staff were very nice and courteous and to take it to the next level we accidentally forgot some towels and bathing suits on our balcony after we checked out so I called them when I came home and they mailed all to me. Please do not listen to the negative reviews people will find fault with everything and remember you are going to the beach so yes maybe things aren’t as luxurious as the Ritz but that’s not what we are looking for we wanted a place where our family felt comfortable and was able to have a unforgettable vacation and that’s exactly what we got.

New York City, New York6 contributions
I don't even know where to begin explaining the disaster that is this "resort". We decided to take our 2 and 4 year old's on vacation. We selected this hotel because it was a 4 hour drive from NYC. Per my conversation with the hotel before booking they assured me that they are kid friendly, they have a huge arcade room, there is a water park and plenty to do. It took me 3 days to confirm our reservations, which I finally ended up getting through an hour before we left for the hotel. They stated they had system issues and therefore no one was able to answer the phone for 4 days What they did is lie. This hotel is not kid or family friendly. Their arcade room which was on the atrium by the pool got moved downstairs to where they collect the garbage. The room had 8 machines, 4 of which were the claw and no 4 year old can play that. Neither of my kids were tall or old enough to play the sad and outdated "arcade" room games. The room was large (we had the queen side ocean view) but it was owl, dirty. The toilet looked like someone peed on it and forgot to clean it. I had to clean the bathroom, the water pressure in the shower was none existent. The restaurant is open 7am to 3pm for breakfast and lunch. At 11am no breakfast food foe the kids, the menu in general whether breakfast or lunch had 6 items and I can only feed my kids chicken nuggets and French fries for so long. When we asked the waitress for a high chair for my daughter she asked me how to spell it so she can write it down and ask if the have it because she had no idea what I was talking about. If you're going to charge me $5 for a KIDS apple juice make sure your waitress's are aware of what a high chair was. The restaurant has flies and bugs every where. On the 3rd night we thankfully were able to find a breakfast spot across the street to feed the kids. We paid 90$ for 2 kids chicken nuggets and French fries plates and 2 chicken sandwiches which is absurd. When I booked the hotel I asked if they provide beach chairs and towels, they said they do. That was a lie, you rent them from a guy on the beach for $32 for an umbrella and 1 chair. They had no life guards. It's swim at tour own risk which I also was not told about. The floor where the pool was, atrocious. You walk into chlorine, heat and mugginess. It was disgusting we couldn't even breathe walking to the second restaurant through the pool area, that is open from 3pm which has the same menu as the restaurant that's open from 7am to 3pm. None of the staff speak English. Good luck getting clean towels, or room service. We checked in on Monday. Tuesday after the beach we asked for room service as kids spilled crackers on the bed and to change the towels. We came up to the room service personnel on our floor. They told us we have to go downstairs and request it, which we did. At 5pm still no room service. They finally came at 8pm. Wednesday we requested clean towels and room service after the beach. They told us that it's 530 and room service is done for the day. I said yesterday they came at 8pm instead of 12pm but today at 530 no room service? The from desk girl rolled her eyes but wrote down our room number. After 2 more check ins they finally came and cleaned. The cleaning staff informed us that there is no house keeping and that they are short staffed and if you want clean towels or garbage removed you need to do it yourself and leave it by the front door. They pick up what you leave and leave you clean towels by your door in a bag. They also tell you to text a number on the card which nobody ever answers. There was absolutely nothing to eat in the hotel or do for the kids. My kids also weren't old enough or tall enough for the water park. THE WIFI IS NONE EXISTENT, THE PHONES DO NOT WORK IN THE ROOMD. FRONT DESK DOESNT CARE. My kids could not use their iPad and we couldn't use our phones unless we were outside. On Thursday, which was July 8th when they boarded up everything due to the upcoming storm and moved the bar to the pool area and other than eating the same chicken nuggets and sandwiches in our room we had no choice but to check out. When we booked we paid a $500 deposit and we're told we pay the rest when we check out. When we got there we were charged the full amount plus $200 extra. Since they never gave me a receipt I had no idea why. We spoke to a "manager" who stated that they charge an authorization fee and a $100 hold for incidentals. It will be returned when we check out plus they will refund us 2 nights. When my bank cleared the charges the hotel had refunded us $45!! Forty five!!! We paid $450 a night, cleaned up and left early due to their misleading advertisement and they refunded me $45 instead of incidentals plus authorization fees and the 2 nights as promised. I called the hotel for 2 weeks leaving the manager messages with no response. Had no choice but to call the bank and ask for their help in this. They didn't even send me a check out email with bill for over charging my card. So I still have no idea why they charged my card more than they were supposed to and what happened with my refund. When we were giving in the keys the guy in the glasses with a European accent was beyond nasty and rude. The activates and events listed on the website are none existent. The parking garage is narrow and it was nearly impossible to find parking for our large SUV. So unless you want to be over charged (without an explanation), eat disgusting and over prices food, stay in a room that forgot it's 2021 and swim in a nasty dirty pool with staff and no house keeping I wouldn't waste my money on This place. This was a disappointing first family vacation. Never again.

First of all, we checked in on a Tuesday, so you would think this would be a day less busy than a weekend. Given this, when we arrived early to Ocean City at 2 pm, we swung by the hotel just to check if our room was ready. I had already completed the pre-checking that had been texted to me for 3 pm, but this did nothing to actually expedite the check-in process. I talked to the front desk person, let them know that I realized that I was very early, but was just checking to see if the room was ready. He agreed that I was very early, tried to get me to take a king room, which wouldn't work, as I was traveling with my sister, but ultimately gave me a parking pass and made it seem like the room would be ready soon. So, my sister and I drove around Ocean City a bit, stopping at a few shops and then returning after 3. I dropped her off with our luggage at the lobby and then went to park in the parking garage with ridiculously steep and narrow ramps - getting my standard minivan through the ramps was tricky. I headed back to the lobby and waited at the front desk again to be told that the room was not ready yet. They called housekeeping and I was told that they were working on my room right then. Okay, so we waited in the lobby, since it shouldn't take too long for them to clean my room. After an hour, a little after 4 pm, I checked again, and was told they were cleaning the room. I checked again at 4:30 pm, and was told that my room was still not ready and that guaranteed checkin wasn't until 5. So I waited until 5 and checked again, only to be told that, yet again my room was not ready. At this point in time, the only helpful person there, Nesha, finally went to the room herself to clean it. She should not have had to do that, and she seemed like the only person that knew how to provide customer service. We finally got to our room at 5:40, after sitting in the lobby waiting for the room to be cleaned for hours. I was given a 25% discount for my wait, but by then, we were hungry for dinner and spending any time on the beach was out of the question. They completely ruined our day at Ocean City due to a simple lack of communication. Unfortunately, this is not where the issues end. The room we were given was not at all what I had reserved. I reserved the Atrium queen room based on the reviews on Tripadvisor and proximity to everything. Apparently, our reserved room had been away or overbooked? I'm not sure what happened, but the room we were given was a 2-bedroom condo in desperate need of a remodel. The furniture was old and uncomfortable. The ceiling fans were difficult to turn on and rattled. Closet doors were impossible to open and close. The tub faucet in the main bathroom dripped. But the main problem was the lack of functional plugs. There were absolutely no plugs in the main bedroom that worked aside from the power strip I found jammed between the mattress and the headboard. The mattress is very heavy and trying to reach that one plug was absurd. My sister had a similar issue in her room, which was extremely problematic because she has a medical device that she uses at night that needs to be plugged in. Plugs need to be accessible and in working order - there is no reason they couldn't have alarm clocks or lamps with additional plugs in them, like most other hotels do that have this issue with inaccessible plugs. The way to get to the room is also ridiculous - you have to wait on an elevator, walk the entire length of the hotel, wait for yet another elevator, and then double-back until you get to your room. This would be extremely difficult for anyone with mobility problems, especially in trying to drag luggage back to the garage after checkout. We woke up early to watch the sunrise, literally the only positive experience we had on this trip, and went to get breakfast at a nearby restaurant. We walked back to the room only to discover the one key we were given stopped working. This apparently happens often, as I have seen others comment on the issue in their reviews, so it is a known issue that they just don't care to fix. I traipsed all the way back to the front desk and back to the room again once I had a working key. Overall, it was just a poor experience and I can't recommend this place to anyone. Maybe if you are a couple and willing to take one of their renovated king rooms, that would be fine, since they apparently have plenty of those, but if you want two beds, be prepared to wait and be given a run-down condo instead of the regular room you wanted. I really try to be an understanding person. I get that covid has changed a lot of things and that workers, such as housekeeping staff, are in short supply. But there is no reason why this hotel couldn't have told me from the get-go that the room would not be ready until much later. They could have checked my bags instead of having us sit in the lobby for hours. And there is no reason why they couldn't have available plugs in the bedrooms. Even with the 25% off, I still paid over $300 for this, which is ridiculous compared to the other, much nicer hotels I stayed at in other beach towns (we stayed in beachfront hotels in Virginia Beach and Nags head as well, which were both in the $320-$330 range and were so much nicer than this place), so it isn't just an issue of being an expensive hotel in a tourist-heavy location. I don't often give poor reviews, but this is one place that absolutely earned a terrible rating. It is being poorly managed and poorly maintained. Tripadvisor should be ashamed for giving it the "Traveler's Choice" award.

I would not return. Spotty service - some good, some atrocious combined with a beat-up, dated, and poorly kept facilities plan is enough to make me seek other accommodations in the future. The manager with the stylized rows in his hair and German accent was particularly passive-aggressive and wholly unhelpful. Even some folks who work there had negative remarks about their new manager. Furniture was damaged, water stains on furniture, curtain rods were crooked. It may be a place to stay with families with small children who just need a hotel, but I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a "nice" hotel.
