My mom and I stayed in two rooms for two nights in mid-week of mid-October. Josh Coffey was an affable host and updated me on the Swenson family that owns and runs this place, Pilgrim Village cottages nearby, and the Hawthorne Motel on Shore Road. I had worked three college summers at the Hawthorne forty years ago for the grandparents of Josh’s wife but had never been inside the Chatham Motel. The rooms were immaculate and must have been recently renovated—perhaps during Covid—with everything a traveler might expect but nothing superfluous. We were about two thirds in from the road, and the place was super quiet, with ample and convenient parking in front of the rooms. For example, I couldn’t even hear the TV when my mom played it fairly loudly in the room next door, which is not the case in many, more modern apartment buildings. The grounds are also well kept, and each room has two chairs outside for when the weather is nice, as it was during our stay. The location is excellent—just over a mile from downtown Chatham, with quick access to the main drag of Route 28. In terms of value for money, this place tops them all.

Room Tip: Be careful crossing Route 28 on foot as it can get busy, even during the slower season.

The location can't be beat as it's within walking distance to downtown Chatham and a short distance to the beach. The rooms are cozy and the hosts are just delightful. We stayed for a soccer tournament and were thrilled with the cleanliness, convenience and amenities. It was lovely to be able to have a quick coffee and breakfast in the morning before heading to the fields and then return and walk to town for lunch and dinner. We will definitely make a trip back!

We booked a one night stay in Chatham as we were making our way out to Provincetown. This has to be the cleanest of all motels, hotels and resorts I have ever stayed in. Totally enjoyed the room and it is a quick uber right into town where there are delicious restaurants. Highly recommended!
