My wife and Iwere celebrating a night out, and wanted to try the food from the new French chef. The food was wonderful, but the choice of beverages did not include wine. The bartender grimmised when I asked him for a wine menu. He said the owner does not want to buy wine for the bar. We found that strange,...

We made last minute reservations to celebrate for a 22nd birthday celebration and they went out of their way to buy a delicious chocolate mousse cake for us, had it written with the name of our birthday girl and they went out again to buy candles and in the end comped the cake for us. They really made our celebration...

We attended a concert in the barn and stayed overnight at the Inn. Our room was romantic and seemed to take us back in time. Unfortunately, we could not fire up the fireplace! The owner gave the site for the concert to benefit Cohasset Education Foundation and the room for the Chorus Annual Dinner. The owner seems to have Cohasset...

My boyfriend and I went to a wedding at the Red Lion on Saturday, April 2nd. It was spectacular. Before going, I was a bit concerned because of some bad reviews I had seen, but it was all good! The wedding was held in what they call "Lion's Hall", which is a big wide open rustic barn-like venue - very...

We were here for Saturday evening dinner. We chose the pub because we were looking for a simple meal. It was such a cozy setting for a cold winter evening. We had hamburgers and they were prepared to perfection. I opted for the sweet potato fries which were excellent. We were very surprised that it was not crowded on a...

The Red Lion is an excellent hotel for a wedding with the upper hall a perfect place for a small to medium wedding. Inquire about the music - the sax player was tremendous and added so much to the event. The rooms are like a quaint Vermont B & B, but better. A truly enjoyable experience - can't say enough.

This could and probably should be a very nice place - old building, quite cosy a bit like an English pub. However the service and management lets it down. The night we were there, the chef was constantly in the bar in all his chef whites, laughing and joking with clients, and had he been in the kitchen my steak...

Attended my daughter's wedding reception here in september. Being my first visit to this particular section of the south shore, I found the area to be pleasant with many old homes and restaurants and located within walking distance to the ocean. The Inn itself is a step back in time with gracious accommodations and spectacular food. If you like old...

As a bit of a history buff, I was really looking forward to my stay at The Red Lion Inn. The lobby's dark wood features and slightly creaky floorboards really brought the Inn's 300 year history to life. The rooms were spacious and each included different variations of colonial appointments -- some had original brick fireplaces (not permitted to use),...
