We really enjoyed Deerfield in general, and this B&B was a big part of it. Great location, historical building, friendly staff and an excellent breakfast. After our activities for the day, we had a few great cocktails and appetizers in the bar. The mixologist was fun and creative and made it a nice evening for us.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us. The beauty of this village and its museum houses continue to charm me after all these years! Glad to know you enjoyed your evening in Champney's at the end of your day. One of our bartenders has a cool party trick which is to make a cocktail that tastes just like your...

Had a very nice 2 day stay. Dont know if we would stay longer than 2 days as we pretty much covered all there is to see in area. Inn was very nice and owners covered all the bases. Loved breakfast. Everyone was courteous at the Inn. Loved the dog Jack. Keurig available at all times. Just a very nice...

We are so happy you enjoyed your stay with us. Well done covering so much ground in two days, Energizer bunnies! Jack got a package in the post the other day with a squeaky skunk in it. I wonder if that was you?! Thanks so much if it was, and kind regards anyway if not!

We were lucky to get a room here while in the area for our daughter's sporting event. We didn't get to stay as long as we would have liked due to an early departure and they thoughtfully prepared breakfast earlier than usual as 1 example of their stellar service. We look forward to another escape this way.

How kind of you to post this about us! We hope the sporting event went well and that the early breakfast gave her an edge over the other team! We look forward to welcoming you back for longer next time, and in the meantime send our kind regards.

Clean and nicely appointed rooms without being too formal. Spectacular service. It feels like home. The staff must be treated well because they are all so nice and upbeat. I would recommend this for anyone interested in history and being in western MA with easy access to Greenfield, Northampton and Amherst, too

Everything was lovely. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. The food was very good, the hot dishes were hot. We had one guest who was tardy, the staff was able to hold a plate for her so she could enjoy the food when she arrived.

The room was period style with modern amenities. Beds were quite comfortable and the rooms were quiet! We were warmly greeted and shown a tour of the property. The restaurant is a quite welcome surprise and the food and drink both for dinner and the following morning was excellent. Many options and exceptionally well prepared for the foodie in you....

We stayed two nights over the Fourth of July holiday in a room on the second floor of the Carriage house, a semi-attached extension to the main inn. The room was reasonably large and tastefully appointed. There were a lot of nice touches, like a metal pitcher of ice water in our room and a Keurig coffee machine down the...

How kind of you to post! Hope that map worked for you! We are all so pleased you enjoyed your stay and had a good meal in Champney's. The Chef runs a scratch kitchen where we even butcher our own meat. We believe in sustainability and in keeping it local. The meat for our burgers comes from pastured cows right...

Historic Deerfield was beautiful. The visitor center provides you with a map and information that enhances your tour of the town. The Deerfield Inn was comfortable and lovely. It had a touch of home with a dog named Jack and tea/coffee available at any hour. We can't wait to return in the fall. This trip promises friendly people and good...

How lovely to get Historic Deerfield and the inn in one review! When you come back in the fall you can fold in the gift shop as well! Glad you found good food and friendly folk - life is too short not to have those basic pleasures. And you will love the autumn colors. If it is cool enough the...

Ha ha! For those who don't know, Jack is our marketing manager who spends a good deal of time lying down on the job. The bowl of water and the well-gnawed bone by the hearth are his. So glad you came back to see us again. Always a pleasure. All good wishes from Jack and his posse

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Deerfield Inn first opened in July 1884 while both a drought and grasshoppers were plaguing the village. The disasters went, but the guests stayed for "the atmosphere and charm of early days, with modern comfort and convenience" with breakfast starting at 30¢ and a room with running water from $1.50. Today we have 24 comfortable and pleasing guestrooms and farm-to-fork Champney's Restaurant & Tavern. We source locally, make our own infusions, support area microbrewers, and in our 131st year we remain the centerpiece of Old Deerfield, a National Historic Landmark, and a Select Registry Property. ... more   less
