Overdue review! We stayed at the Cedar Hill Farm Bed & Breakfast in mid June with the fabulous hosts Justin and Drew and Gabe! Immediately we fell in love with the charm and history of this 1695 Old School House. We had booked the Starboard Suite which was the original School Room of the First School in the area. I loved that it was updated (with a Fab clawfoot Tub) but it still held it's old charm, like the old doors and the old flooring. The beds were so comfy and there was plenty of room for us and our 2 year old. They even had a pack and play ready for us and Justin went out of his way to find a sheet for us (which he had!) Breakfasts were amazing and they even made smaller portions for our daughter and she loved them! Also loved the little treats put out in the afternoon. There was a small fridge and a microwave in the breakfast room for guests to use as well. We loved spending time downstairs at the breakfast table with the other guests when our daughter went to sleep at night, it was great to laugh with Justin and Drew as well! I can't say enough about Cedar Hill and how great our stay was and how much we really appreciated Justin and Drew and how out of the way they went for us! We can't wait to come back as an adult only trip! Thank you for everything, Justin, Drew and Gabe!

So glad a friend gave us the heads up about this great Essex B&B! We were looking for a place that would give us easy access to Gloucester, Rockport and Ipswich, so the location was ideal, but the B&B itself turned out to be one of the best parts of our trip. The room was spacious and the design fit perfectly with the historic feel of the home. The grounds were also lovely with places to just sit and relax. Justin and Drew were great hosts. From the welcome cookies to the delicious breakfasts and more, we ended up feeling like we were staying at a friend's place instead of a standard B&B. Even Gabe (their awesome dog) welcomed us with open paws! The breakfasts were also focused on fresh food and locally owned small businesses, which is something both my husband and I both really appreciate. Essex itself turned out to be just as interesting as the towns we'd originally come to see and definitely a place to check out if you're into antiquing. So many shops! (and plenty of great food options too) My only regret is that I never took the time to take a relaxing bath in the big tub! That's okay though, we'll be coming back for sure now that we've found the perfect place to stay.

We had a lovely stay at Cedar Hill. Justin and Drew were very accommodating and the B&B was very clean and comfortable. The cranberry and banana breads were delicious as well as the freshly baked cookies in the afternoon. Essex is quiet and quaint and the perfect home base to visit many of the surrounding towns. If we are ever in the area again we would love to stay at Cedar Hill Farm B&B.

This B&B has so much historic charm! I loved the mix of sailing and farmhouse decor, so fitting for the area. There were lots of little touches that made staying here extra special - my favorite, the welcome chocolate chip cookies! The bed was so comfortable I did not want to get out of bed. The hosts, Justin and Drew, were so welcoming and accommodating. However, their dog was the real star of the show! I will be coming back for another stay that is for sure.

I came across Cedar Hill looking for a nearby getaway during COVID and was so pleased to find this two bedroom farmhouse. It's absolutely perfect - the hosts are incredibly hospitable, the location is next to town and close to many beaches, walks, and day-trips.
