John the owner was very gracious in greeting and informing guests of local history. Rooms were typical New England charm and comfortable. We decided to take-off from Boston and do some local exploring, and decided on booking the Harbor View Inn.

I have been wanting to stay here for many years and finally did! As someone who loves the boulevard and spends a lot of time sitting at the bridge in warm weather. The Manchester room was the perfect choice. The weather was a bit cold so sitting in the easy chair nice and cozy looking out over the harbor was... More

Excellent place to stay. Both John & Marie were very helpful and pleasant. It was genuinely like staying in a friend's home. Location on the waterfront is fantastic. Parking is available at the back or out on the street. Breakfast was extensive and good. It's a five to ten minute walk to the shops and restaurants of Main Street and... More

Located near the Fisherman's statue with great views of the bay. Rooms look a bit old but the beds are good, the water is hot and the owner (who grew up a few houses down the street) is talkative and friendly. Very nice cold buffet breakfast. Nicely landscaped (our care got covered in Gincko leaves), nice porch... and did I... More

We stayed for 4 nights at this delightful inn. We had the Gloucester Suite on the 2nd floor, where there is a sitting room in the front and the roomy bedroom in the back of the house. The furnishings were eclectic and cozy. The bed was so comfortable that we slept like logs! John was often there and was a... More

Checked in and out without every seeing anyone from management. A key was left for me in a box and I stayed in the room on the top floor. Very small room with a small view of the ocean. The room was very clean but very small. Would be OK for 1 person but small for a couple. The price... More

Not the best b&b we've stayed in, not terribly friendly, we were treated with 'you pay the balance of 1 night now' didn't even tell us her name, no help offered with bags, room overlooking car park, but I must stress the room was very clean, as was the linen, breakfast of the sort of day variety, toasted muffins, bagels,... Thank you for your kind remarks about the quality of my room.. as for being friendly or not perhaps since I can not remember you I might have not been on the property or I gave you your privacy; perhaps we may have thought you were private people and wanted not much to do with chat. My payment policy is... More

We spent 2 nights at the Harbor Inn. The view of the water is wonderful because you are just across the street! The Magnolia on the 3rd floor is a very large room, with 3 comfortable chairs and a king sized bed. The Bathroom is a generous size but the clawfoot tub is a smaller one. I had a problem... More
