What a delightful discovery. Poetry Ridge is located on 10 acres of forest with easy access to major roadways of Greenfield and on the border of bohemian-chic Turners Falls. The house maintains its early 20th century charm with original furnishings and details with 21st century amenities. The hosts are wonderfully attentive and Mary is an excellent chef. Truly a home...

Having stayed with Mary and Errol three years ago for commencement weekend, my family and I rented nearly the whole house and returned for another tranquil and beautiful commencement weekend. Errol wrote us a week in advance to ask us for breakfast preferences and then surprised us with Chinese specialities every morning. The hiking trails behind the house are the...

The Deerfield Inn was full so we tried Poetry Ridge. This proved a great discovery. Rooms clean, quiet, and comfortable. Hosts social and very interesting. Breakfasts were great. All in all a fine place to stay. Glad Deerfield was full.

Wonderful place to visit with great hosts. Mary and Errol made the stay so pleasant, we felt as if we were coming home each night after our daily activities. It is a very clean older B&B from the early 1900's, which is quaintly decorated with beautiful views of the mountains. It is peaceful both inside and out. I look forward...

We had the John Greenleaf Whittier room, not my favorite poet, but the best view of the distant mountain range. We were too early for Fall foliage, but I imagine this in-the-middle-of-nature B&B would be gorgeous when the colors change. Like all good B&B experiences, we felt completely at home . . . like treasured guests at this 1910 home...

What a lovely place to stay! We stayed for two nights during the Green River Festival, and are thinking about making reservations for a tranquil and easy get away. The setting is simply beautiful. We had fantastic view of the mountain from our room. Errol and Mary are welcoming hosts, who foster interesting conversations among their guests. Our breakfasts were...

Wonderful building in a wonderful place, we enjoyed the view from our room even while it was pouring! Good food and nice conversations for breakfast. The owners are very nice, smart people with a lot of useful suggestions about what to do and where to go in the nearby. Highly recommended!!

My husband and I were looking for a bed and breakfast that wasn’t too far from home yet would provide an “escape weekend” experience. We found it at the Poetry Ridge Bed and Breakfast. This elegant yet comfortable home was built from 1910 to 1912 and is spacious and beautiful. We visited a few weeks before Christmas, and the house...

Stayed here for 2 nights while returning from a visit to Maine; tucked away location, very peaceful, though close to restaurants and many activities. Inn is in a beautiful, elegant, but comfortable home from another era. Enjoyed delicious, ample breakfast with interesting guests. Innkeeper Errol was very warm and welcoming, and offered suggestions for our drive west along the Mohawk...

Poetry Ridge B&B is beautifully furnished with dark heavy antiques, hangings, drapery, gorgeous flocked wallpaper and either beautifully redone wood floors or soft carpeting that muted your footsteps. There were plenty of windows and light so it is not at all dreary. We stayed in the Frederick Goddard Tuckerman suite (named for a local poet, my wife won the night's...

“Apparently there are one or two rooms with balconies which other travelers seem to have recommended; the F.G. Tuckerman Suite was large enough to sleep 2 adults in bed; 1 adult/child on day bed and had plenty of windows and a large patio, although it was locked in winter. I would guess every room has its own unique charm.”
