This place is a short walk from town, easy to reach when you are walking! Room was comfortable, very clean & bathroom was bigger than a lot I've seen. Hosts were friendly & at Breakfast, Laura was willing to make you what you wanted. Rates are reasonable as well.

The photos and some reviews indicated that this is a quaint and charming Inn, formerly a grand residence. It was one of the only B&Bs with vacancy and affordability when we booked last minute. Our room had not only a bed, but a sitting area with love-seat, and an outdoor porch. It felt a bit like a cabin, quaint with...

We enjoyed meeting you. Thanks for the description of Whistler's Inn and the expansive breakfast, as well as your experience. Some guests like to stay in the Santa Fé room because it is more rustic in character, and it is set apart from the main inn where people like to have more privacy. The room also has its own porch...

We arrived on a hot day in August. The house has no air conditioning except for small window units in the bedrooms. They had not been turned on prior to our arrival thus taking a few hours for the rooms to cool off. Some bedrooms were of adequate size, but the bathrooms were miniscule. The furniture is old English is...

Whistler's Inn was built to stay reasonably cool during the summer months, especially in the common rooms downstairs. The ceilings are very high, and therefore the heat rises. We do put the air-conditioners on prior to the arrival of a guest if we know what hour they are arriving. We do not have the air-conditioners running all day long in...

Just back from a culture- and nature-filled trip to Lenox, Mass, where I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Whistler's Inn. The house is lovely, slightly run down and in need of renovation, but full of character, quirks, and maybe a ghost or two. Joan and Richard Mears and their daughter Lisa are wonderful hosts, and the breakfasts are delicious -- each...

Hello, We enjoyed meeting you very much. Thanks for the compliments on the breakfast. Yes, we have a lot of interesting conversations around the breakfast table! Whistler's Inn is a mansion built in the 19th century. We are always working on renovations here. We have a new roof and a new boiler. We do a lot of painting after the...

The room we stayed in was small with no space to put our bags or plug in our electronics. No closet space, night stands or chair. The room someone else in our party stayed in did not have a bathroom inside(something we were not told about). Everything inside the place was old and on the verge of falling apart. When...

Whistler's Inn is a tudor mansion that was built before the turn of the 19th century. The inn is filled with antiques that are in good shape considering their antiquity. We have had a number of distinguished people stay at Whistler's Inn over the years which include ambassadors, scientists, doctors, lawyers, writers, painters, musicians and many fun-loving people from all...

My husband and I stayed one night at the Whistler's Inn. The staff was extremely welcoming when we arrived. We were welcomed to help our selves to a pre dinner drink of sherry in the library. The library has an extensive book collection, where you are invited to relax and read. The decor is in keeping with the style of...

Thanks for the compliments and the nice description of Whistler's Inn. We are happy that you enjoyed your stay here. We just want to mention that all of our guest rooms have private baths. One room has a bathroom a little down the hall, but it is private to that particular room.

We recently stayed at the Whistler Inn for a quick getaway in the beautiful Berkshire area. We found the Inn to be just the right combination of affordable, interesting, clean, and comfortable. The common rooms offered lovely antiques and many inviting sitting areas, both indoors and out. The room we stayed in was on the small side, but had everything...

Thank your for your compliments and the description of Whistler's Inn and the location. Yes, our small rooms are quite small as is seen in photos on our website. We do think that our prices are reasonable compared to other hotels in the region.

Thanks so much for the compliments. We had a wonderful time chatting with you! The compliments and descriptions are appreciated. Although Holly does not live on the premises, we do bring her over to Whistler's Inn so that people can meet this lovely little white, fluffy and playful little dog.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Featured on The Travel Channel and Great Escapes, this 1820 English Tudor mansion in the heart of the Berkshires was once the home of the railroad tycoon Ross Wynans Whistler, nephew of the painter James M. Whistler. Close to Tanglewood and all major Berkshire cultural venues, Whistler's Inn captures the warmth and elegance of a bygone era. On six acres of gardens and woodlands and two blocks from the center of Lenox, this quiet antique and art-filled retreat has an extensive library and French music room with a Steinway grand piano. A buffet breakfast is served with recipes inspired by the cook's world travels (Spain, France, Israel, South America, Japan and Morocco). ... more   less
