Mary is a HOOT...she is a down to earth, hard working wonderful person. She is very accommodating and helpful. I felt at home and relaxed in this wonderful home. If you take the time to get to know the hostess you will learn many things. I thank God he sent me there.

Filthy and weird are two words that capture our stay at this b&b. And watch out for your belongings; the owner is not to be trusted!! This is not like ANY bed and breakfast we ever stayed at ... we felt like we were a nuisance, far from the hospitality and charms of what B&Bs are known for. I wouldn't...

I am staying in the area once a week for work reasons. The house is cluttered. The rooms are decent, but the rest of the house is not. It's outright messy, with every surface cluttered with things. The first week Mary charged me $10 for breakfast (double the listed rate) -- and then didn't serve it. I had told her...

We spent 3 nights at Mary's and enjoyed it. It is not your typical B&B (and as a previous review mentioned) we did feel more like we were staying at a relative's home than a traditional B&B. Mary is a pleasant and hospitable host. She is talkative and she does have 2 elderly dogs but it didn't bother my husband,...

Our stay was extremely enjoyable. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and attractive. Mary Van, the proprietor, was the epitome of transplanted southern hospitality and a wonderful conversationalist. Her breakfast, catered to our special needs, was just perfect. Recommend it highly.

Yes, there is no sign, but Mary emailed us great directions in advance and clarified that Gps would not get us there accurately. We wanted for nothing during our one night stay. The dogs are friendly, but not aggressive about seeking attention. Our room was clean and stocked with the basic amenities like soap and shampoo. Breakfast was fine, and...

Stayed at this "B&B" in April 2011. Noticed there were no updated reviews on Trip Advisor since 2009, so was hoping that maybe things had changed. Unfortunately, they have not. I guess I'll begin with the good - The house is interesting, in a nice neighborhood, looks nice from the outside, convenient location for where we needed to be, cheap...

We did not book a room at Mary Van's historic B&B, but did document the exterior during a This OId House visit to New England. http://thisoldhouseroadtrip.wordpress.com/2009/09/28/1988-the-lexington-bb/ For the traveler, our rating is ONLY for the exterior of the property

We had a very pleasant stay and May Van Sinek was most gracious. I am a little baffled about some of the other posts here becuase we did not see anything negative like what has been written. The rooms were clean, the sheets had a very high thread count, and the towels were all beautifully monogramed. Mary served us a...

The reviews of this B&B are most unfair. It is certainly true that the house is looking a little worn, but if you want brand new, clinical bed-sheets then stay at a Holiday Inn. Mary Van's house has a lot of character, and Mary Van herself is a great character. She took the time to run us into the center...
