Our two days with Dick and Nancy were absolutely delightful. We stayed in the Painted Lady (bathroom pictured) and were blown away by the true Victorian experience. Our hosts soon became our friends. We had the run of the first floor, enjoyed the ambiance, and our breakfasts were exquisite. Our beds were comfortable and the rooms quiet. Dick, Nancy, you...

Thanks for a gift certificate and also the timing staying at this Bed &Breakfast ( owners leaving on vacation next week ), we were pleasantly and very happy with our stay. Nancy and Dick Zimmer met us with open arms, made us feel at home, helped us with restaurants, knowledgeable with their area. They were down to earth people, funny,...

My wife and I recently spent an evening at the Penrose Victorian Inn near Northampton, MA. Our hosts, Nancy and Dick Zimmer, were busy decorating for Christmas and the house was enchanting. Our room was beautiful and very comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. We recommend Penrose very highly.

A beautiful home filled with fascinating knick-knacks and incredible stories. It was a pleasure to spend some time there and enjoy conversations with Dick and Nancy, and their generous, delicious breakfast. Make sure to ask for a player piano demonstration!

Thanks Lindsay and Alex. We really enjoyed having you stay with us. We also enjoyed the link you sent us with your composition. It took a while for Dick and I to watch it together. You are welcome at Penrose anytime.

Staying at this "Painted Lady" in Haydenville, Massachusetts was a wonderful experience. Nancy and Dick Zimmer are excellent hosts and couldn't do enough for their guests. The home is enchanting as are the hosts! I spent 5 nights there and enjoyed every moment. Visited Western Massachusetts in early June and the weather was perfect--a delicious, different breakfast was served on...

We stayed two nights with Dick and Nancy at their beautiful Victorian "Painted Lady" in Haydenville. We didn't know what a painted lady was but as our room was the Painted Lady room, we were curious and our hosts told us that is the name given to these style of 19th century houses. Really it was more like staying in...

A lovely inn, chock full of Victorian pieces and bric-a-brac, with gracious and helpful hosts, spacious rooms, well-appointed bathrooms and an excellent breakfast. To be even better, they could update the mattress in the Purrington room, increase the heating temperature a few degrees, and offer cold cereal for those who don't want the hot breakfast entree for the day. Dick and Nancy Zimmer were wonderful hosts. First time we stayed there and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The third floor Suite was a delightful surprise with queen sized bed, TV and sitting area. Their breakfasts were outstanding and memorable. Will definitely be back.

Penrose Victorian Inn is a gorgeous "Painted Lady" Bed and Breakfast in the Northampton area. We have stayed there twice now, in two different suites - they are all just lovely. Hosts Dick and Nancy Zimmer are warm and gracious, and knowledgeable about things to do and see in the area. And their homemade breakfast is delicious! We look forward...

My daughter and I had a lovely stay at the Penrose Victorian Inn. The inn keepers were wonderful. The location, just outside of Northampton, was great. It was a great change of pace during our New England tour.

“We enjoyed the Brides Room, which has a connected bath with a shower. (Not all bathrooms are connected or have showers.)”
BikeJane, 18 May 2016 | Read review
“We were in the bridal suite, and the morning sun was definitely a wake up call. While we looked in the other rooms, and they seemed to be as big and as nice as ours. All of the rooms and bathrooms were large, and the B&B is in a very quiet area, so the only noise that might wake you is the birds greeting the morning.”

“Brides Room has a walk in shower, Painted Lady Room has a claw foot tub, Lady Purrington Room has bath with claw foot tub across the hall. All rooms have beautiful Amish quilts on the beds.”
monap883, 10 Aug 2014 | Read review
“Bride's Room and Painted Lady have connected bathrooms; Eleanor Purrington Room has private bath across the hallway. All have in-window A/C that help keep the temperature more constant than the open windows and can help to provide white noise if you're sensitive to noise (such as from the nearby road or from neighbors). Also note that all rooms are upstairs and there is no elevator, so this is not a suitable accommodation for those with mobility problems.”
