Aside from home, the most comfortable, easy-going, and beautiful accommodations we've ever had. Great room, great food, great dogs (they made it even harder to leave), and Dan is the perfect host-always looking to make the stay as low key and restful as you'd want it to be. The other guests were friendly and interesting, making breakfast conversation an added...

Beautiful quiet setting on a hill in Williamstown. Rustic, unique house surrounded by wild life and landscaping. We were treated to a heavy rainstorm complete with some thunder. Slept very well. Dan was a gracious host who made a fabulous breakfast. Grilled pineapple with yogurt and nuts started the feast. That was followed by an individual puff pastry filled with...

Our host, Dan, is a landscape designer by profession and a chef by avocation and I can't think of a better combination of skills for a BnB owner. Hazel and Emma, his two friendly dogs, cheerfully accompanied us on a walk around the landscaped grounds and guided us to the rustic swimming hole on the property. Breakfast included a beautifully...

The Birches is a lovely house situated on some 50 acres of farmland just outside of Williamstown. Dan, the owner, paid attention to every detail in its construction, furnishings, and décor, and his home is warm and welcoming on every level. Equally satisfying are his delicious and visually appealing breakfasts. The sign above the entrance reads "Relax," and one can...

The gardens and views here are splendid. Dan -- the innkeeper–– is a gifted landscaper. He's also a good cook and gracious host. He was engaging in conversation, but not intrusive, helpful with hints to take advantage of local amenities, and overall made the weekend comfortable and enjoyable. We left with a smile on our faces.

This was my second stay at this very special inn. The location and setting can't be beat. The inn is lovely with so many unique touches (a tree in the middle of the living room!), and the gardens and grounds are lush and beautiful. Dan is a warm and welcoming host, offering great advice on where to eat and what...

My family stayed in two of the three rooms at the Birches about a week ago in late October. The experience and ambience were remarkable in that we felt simultaneously as if we were visiting with a dear friend while being treated to accommodations up to par with a five star hotel. We had three gourmet breakfasts in the lovely...

I persuaded my husband to forego his usual weekend tennis so that we could attend the Williamstown Theatre Festival ( WTF) held every summer at Williams College. I wanted to see Chita Riveria in The Visit and go to late night cabaret held in an old Church. But, I found myself in a bit of a pickle when familiar places...

We were really lucky to find this beautiful place a few years ago. It is unique, pristine and unspoiled. House and rooms are very comfortable and clean. Very pretty and thoughtful landscape Intertwined with the beauty of the nature around.. Swimming and spending time near the pond is one of our favorite things to do. Wonderful place to relieve stress...
