We have children & easily fill the tiny garbages in the rooms. When I asked the cleaning ladies in the hall why our room wasn’t cleaned or at least the garbages emptied , they told me that we must’ve had the DND sign up , which we didn’t . Then the second time I called I was told they wouldn’t clean because of COVID and they couldn’t empty our garbage because “ they don’t know what’s in there “ . It’s garbAge !!! Take it out or give me a discount. Just another way to do less ! Won’t be back .
Shanty Creek offers alot of flexibility in courses, lodging, dining, and other activity. It's courses range from top tier (Legend, Cedar River,) to very modiest yet playable. It is a set up both for families or golf buddy trips. They usually will work to help your schedule though sometimes their prices can run a little steep. Staff is very good.
Schuss Mountain / Shanty Creek Makes the most of small ski resort acreage. We skied Sun/Mon/Tuesday with two younger teens. Fun skiing, no lines. Staff members all over the mountain - lifts, restaurants, shops, rentals - were all super friendly. We AirBnB-ed a decent condo on Shanty Creek property. Rented fat tire bikes and snow shoes in nearby Bellaire, MI and spent half a day Saturday on trails in Grass River Natural Area. Apres-ski visits to Short’s Brewing Company for great beers and appetizers (also in Bellaire) ended a couple days on a quality note. Fun weekend all-around.
Stayed in Ridgewalk 610 for a week. Location was great, close to Lakeview Hotel and with great views of Lake Bellair. The condition of the unit was disappointing. Condos are quite out-dated, and level of maintenance is below par. Bathroom faucet was loose, not attached to counter. Tubs and showers showed mold spots on shower curtains and on tiles. Kitchen supplies were a little hit or miss compared to what were used to at Vacation Club at Shanty Creek. Service from the front desk and housekeeping staff we spoke to was great, however, so I appreciate the staff at Shanty Creek Resort. Skiing was great as usual at Schuss Mountain.
Being from Florida we always drive for snow . The last two years have brought us back to the same place. Staff is very friendly and helpful, prices are a lot cheaper then West Virginia or Tennessee. Pd around 250 per night for a two room suite with kitchen. Balcony and fireplace was nice. We booked last minute . Resort prices for food and drinks, having a kitchen helped with the budget. This is a place we will return . Kids loved the school Staff and tubing was fun.
