The Thunder Bay Inn is an old inn where the cast and company of the movie, An Anatomy of a Murder, stayed. It is one of their claims to fame with much movie paraphanaila throughout. Our room, my traveling companion friend and I, was really four, bedroom with two dbl beds, sitting room, small space with desk, and full bath....

We stayed overnight and had dinner at the Inn on our autumn getaway. We had the corner room with a full bed and a twin bed that had the private bath, a requirement of my husband's. It had this marvelous divan that was very comfortable, I wish we had one! Dinner was very good, it is a popular dining place....

Stopped in for lunch and a brew. Whitefish sandwich, cudighi, fried mushrooms, and cheese curds were ordered for lunch. Each item was amazing, everything is homemade, not prepackaged frozen junk. Wide assortment of local craft beers to choose from. Summer is a great waitress if you have a choice when you come in. When you are done eating take a...

Also called Dukes Grill. We ate at the restaurant, did not stay at the Inn, so disregard any hotel ratings. Trip advisor would not let me enter the review without it. The food was very good (we had the fish fry) and the others in our party all enjoyed their selections. The service seemed to get bogged down a bit...

A step back in time, back to the good and relaxing times. Great food, friendly people and a great place to relax and see the sights of the area. Not your standard hotel room, much better, like the old days. We stayed in the suite and a regular room. Both rooms were well worth it!!! Gretchen the owner makes every...

This is a great place to stay. We only had lunch.good food and cooked just right. The side room with the bar was built for the movie. There is alot of movie info and pictures. Well worth the visit. Amazing this was used for the film and the actual murder bar is around the corner. What fun.

Great piece of history in the U.P. James Stewart, others acted in the award winning movie "Anatomy of a Murder". A time honored classic. The owners have plenty of historical pictures and info on this. Good eats, beer, mixed drinks. Fun place to visit.

True. After staying at the legendary Thunder Bay Inn, I had to buy the book from which the movie "Anatomy of a Murder" was based. You can just imagine the murder taking place at the bar and Mary up in one of the rooms upstairs! Gretchen and Wayne couldn't have been nicer or more gracious! The food in their restaurant...

Hotel was very nice but did not stay at it. The food was excellent. The wait staff was very helpful. We were able see the rooms used in making a movie and two wonderful sets of china. It really charming with front porch to rock on and large parlor to visit with friends.

The Thunder Bay Inn is wonderfully quaint, nostalgic place! The owners are incredibly kind, helpful, and engaging. The Inn itself is very interesting and filled with antiques. The rooms are almost like bedrooms in a large home. Some have private baths but some do not (be aware when you book). It was very quiet while I was there but I...
