I opted for a private room, which was still very affordable. The hostel is located in the Corktown neighborhood, which is a hip part of town. It is an oddly intriguing area witha ton of character. I met a couple of cool people from all over the country while I was there. As for the property itself, you must be...

Overall we enjoyed our stay at Hostel Detroit - it's an older building with cosy private rooms (didn't see dorms). We received a really warm welcome from Tim who gave us a bunch of suggestions for things to check out. There is a reasonable kitchen and a small common area based around a long table. Our only gripe was that...

I couldn't rate my stay at Hostel Detroit more highly. Having travelled throughout the world, and working in the Hostel industry myself, I have experienced a lot of different hostels and Hostel Detroit met all my expectations. The staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. Their passion and enthusiasm for the city shone through and really helped me to make the...

I can't lie and say that I wasn't slightly off-put when I pulled up to Hostel Detroit- the neighbourhood is starkly different than what I'm used to seeing at home in Toronto. However, I judged a fantastic book by it's neighbourhood cover- Hostel Detroit is awesome! I can't say enough great things about this place- great staff, walkable location, comfy...

We stayed just two nights at Hostel Detroit, but had a really unforgettable time there! Evan and friends helped us to explore the city and shared a personal sight on many things happening there. The tour through the city with his car was a highlight!! The hostel was super clean, the location was nice, 15 min. walk to downtown, great...

A superb location in Midtown and on the edge of Corktown. Reasonable rates and nice facility. Only complaint is lack of restroom/showers when folks are waking up in the morning. They have bikes you can rent and Detroit is a VERY bike friendly city. The streets of Midtown and downtown are full of people getting where they need to go...

It was my first time visiting a hostel. It was really nice experience. I felt like I'm in home. The location was fantastic. The people was friendly. I parked my car safely in side where they have place to park.

friendly, welcoming staff -- location looks ominous, but my rental car wasn't harmed at all (i followed advice and kept the interior empty) -- you can walk to woodward blvd's cultural amenities by taking temple blvd on foot for 30 min -- walking distance to corktown, which has numerous restaurants, only 10 min walk maybe -- clean and comfortable with...

The hostel is very welcoming, it has a nice interior decoration and plenty of visit suggestions and infos on Detroit. The hostel managers are very friendly and helpful, they are reachable at any time. The rooms are clean, you have a wifi-access, a little kitchen and small bathroom. The hostel is situated at 5 min by car from the Greyhound...

This hostel is in Corktown, the oldest neighborhood in Detroit. Many of the older, burned out homes that used to be in the area have been leveled and wide fields are left. We are a family of four, including two teens, that wanted to spend and inexpensive night in Detroit to hit the auto show. We spent $60 for each...
