We were directed here by a nice lady at the Frankfort Visitor Center. She called the Stonewall but got no answer. We walked there. The place was unlocked but no one there. I called from their porch and got a message that they would be back soon. I left my name and number and my desire to rent a room....

We very much enjoyed staying at the Stonewall Inn. Sandy & Dave were great hosts and were very helpful in guiding guests to activities in the area. Their little dog, Maddie, is the best behaved creature we've ever come across. The Inn is a 2-block walk to town and maybe 4 blocks to Lake Michigan, definitely can walk wherever you...

My wife and I stayed in the Stonewall Inn B&B earlier this summer (June), in the small lakeside town of Frankfort, MI. The Inn is a delight, as are the Innkeepers. The home is one of the oldest buildings in this quaint town, and true to the spirit of the name and the year it was built (1860), the interior...

My wife and I just arrived home from a long weekend at the stonewall inn. It was an excellent stay, and we tremendously enjoyed it. Dave and sandy were the perfect hosts, able to suggest what to definitely visit based on our interests and then leave us alone and let us enjoy ourselves. We basically allowed Dave to plan one...

We were very grateful that Dave graciously offered to let us use his bikes to check out the area after we had just checked in. Dave also took us on a guided tour of the Betsie River with his kayaks. We certainly didn't expect this. Restaurant recommendations were right on target. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Sleeping Bear Dunes is...

We had a great time at the inn, especially being the only 3 guests at the time. This is the oldest house in Frankfort, dating from the civil war area, and it is in very good shape (though would not call it impeccable). Sandy made us feel very much at home and we had nice long conversations over breakfast. She...

My fiancée and I spoke with Dave, owner with his wife, Sandy, a few days prior to our stay in September, 2013. I mentioned our plan to kayak part of the Betsie River when Dave offered to let us use his kayaks. He offered to drive us to the starting point and join us on the river. What a great...

My wife and I pulled up midday to the stonewall inn after a morning worth of drive and were pleasantly surprised by what we found. The house itself sits a few blocks off the main stretch in Frankfurt, and is plenty close to all the action the little town has to offer. The grounds themself are beautiful, and we loved...

A wonderful old, Civil War era home loaded with Civil War memorabilia. My husband is a Civil War buff and it was a surprise for him. We could walk to the lovely beach or to the shops. From the beach, you can see the headlands of Sleeping Bear Dunes and take long walks in that direction. Restaurants are excellent in...

I'm sure it was more than my life-long interest in the Civil War that made me like this place. Our hosts were charming, giving us some great pointers about things to be sure to see on our way north, and serving a wonderful breakfast. The Victorian house is charming (even if it weren't loaded with Civil War momentos and pictures),...
