Detailed Reviews
I loved staying here!
Get away from the rat race and kick back. You will have no cell service here which is pretty awesome for an unplugged weekend.
There are 3 modern cabins that have bathrooms and 4 rustic cabins that don't (you have to go to a bathhouse).
The 3 modern cabins have a small kitchette (sink, fridge, stove/oven, table, silverware, plates, cups, basic cooking pots/pans, coffee maker--bring your own coffee), two double beds, a heater, and a bathroom with shower. There is a fire pit at each cabin. The cabins are simple but thats all you need. You can either bring your own towels and bed linens or they will provide them for you.
The owners are awesome as is the food they prepare. These ladies are southern and the biscuits are to die for! Breakfast comes with each rental and they do prepare lunch and dinner if you are interested. The indoor seating area is really small so takeout is probably best.
The breakfast was really good: biscuits and gravy, biscuit or croissant sandwiches, breakfast burritos, and breakfast pizza--my grown daughter really liked this!
We brought our own food for lunch and dinner (I slow cooked some chili and made cornbread).
If you forget something, they do have a store that you can probably find what you need: milk, juice, soda pop, chips, basic amenities, etc.
If you like, there are trails down the road that you can hike to the Lumberman's Monument, or drive there.
Oscoda and Tawas and nearby for shopping and dining out.
The new roadway has a rumble strip in the middle to "wake up" drowsy drivers that cross the center median. This can keep light sleepers awake but I slept through much of it with no issues. The speed limit is also 55mph which can keep some awake.

Cute, clean little cabins near the Huron Manistee National Forest. Breakfast is included - I recommend the breakfast in a cup, it was very good! The store has a variety of drinks and snacks, and a selection of hot sandwiches, pizzas, and other entrees for lunch and dinner.
