We stayed in one of the motel rooms. The decor reminded me of the "cabins" we stayed in when we fished in Wisconsin but with better beds! Overall it was very clean.
There are 2 steep steps up at the door, so my 79-year-old mother had problems getting in - I noticed another older couple there have the same problem.
We needed 2 beds, and they put that second bed right next to the front door. So there wouldn't be much room to move around if we were staying longer, but it was fine for one night. If you are spending more than one night, the cabins and trailers are also closer to the lake than the motel.

Owner angrily confronted me when I visited to possibly rebook a stay. I had cancelled one night at last minute because of emergency and this guy went postal when I showed up, ordering me off his property and using profanities. At one point he challenged me to a fight. Really dude? Because I cancelled a one-night reservation? I even asked him if I had a death in the family, would that be an emergency -- and he said, "I don't care." He needs a very lonely summer -- and more.

Run fast from this guy. I had to cancel one of two nights because of emergency. I then went to the motel to see if it was good enough to try and book a different night. He ordered me off his property, used profanities, and challenged me to a fight. Really? This guy needs a straight jacket.

This property has several overnight options-a small 5 unit motel, and several cottages and mobile homes. We stayed in a motel unit. The price was very reasonable-only $75 a night, and all the properties are very near the beach/lake. Our room was outdated as far as decor and furnishings go, but it was very clean and had everything we needed. There were 2 double beds, a couch, table, and small kitchenette with a stove, sink and fridge, and utensils. There's also grills on the property you can use, along with a fire pit. The shower was small, but really posed no major inconvenience to us. I will also add that the walls must be well insulated, because we couldn't hear the people next to us. The owners are right onsite if you need anything, and they are friendly. We really enjoyed being able to walk on the shore and make a fire. If you want to stay a few nights, or are just passing through, I would give this place a try.

We reserved a room for one night and liked it so much we stayed for another. My number one criteria is a clean room. Our room was very clean. They pay attention to detail! Beautiful Lake Huron is a 3 minute walk down the motel property drive way. The owners were very accommodating and so nice too. We enjoyed eating our dinner out on the picnic table in a lovely setting.

The cottage itself was nice and accommodating. Two bedrooms with one bed in one room and two beds in the other. Full kitchen, living and dining room area. The cottage we had was the only one directly facing the water which was nice however there was quite a drop off down to the beach that was all rocky. No fire pit up close to the cabin, you had to walk over to the side and down closer to the beach. Overall, it was a pretty nice place to stay.

We stopped for a quick stay for one night. The owners were wonderful! We enjoyed the beach and the relaxing swing in the front. The rooms were clean and the prices were great. The only small thing is that some of the beds are a little worn out. We would still stay again!

We've been staying here multiple times over the last seven years and would never consider going elsewhere. The owners have ALWAYS been accommodating and make us feel as though we've been friends forever. This IS our second home away from home and would highly recommend.
