This is a large house situated between a railroad track and a beach along Lake Huron. One night was spent in the Driftwood Suite. The average size suite has a hot tub bath, a cathedral ceiling, numerous windows, a refrigerator and a private balcony.

The view from the balcony is somewhat obstructed by mature trees, but it is still a refreshing benefit for staying here. Witnessing the sun rise was a fantastic experience. Best of all, the beach is literally a dozen dozen (approximately 150) steps away.

A continental breakfast was available – during a certain period of time – in the kitchen located one floor below the suite. This inn is highly recommended for a relaxing getaway.

The Lake Huron Inn offers a beautiful setting on the water. Taking a night hike is highly recommended. So nice to see the stars and the moon...

On arrival, the host, Frank, kindly welcomed us to the Inn and showed us around. Unobtrusive and friendly, he explained about breakfast, which includes a plentiful variety.

The bed in the Tree House Suite is big and spacious, two sinks are available in the room, and the toilet has in its own space in a curtained area off the main room. One suggestion is to add a couple hooks for hanging clothes or towels. The jet tub is oh-so-comfortable ~ bring bubble bath :)

Also, be careful if you use Google.maps or another web-based system to find the Inn. From the south, the directions go to another place ~ not too far away, but requires going about 1/2 mile further north on Highway 23.

Great people, place and price. Enjoy!

We spent our 5th anniversary at the Lake Huron Inn and had a wonderful time. The view is awesome from rooms number 1 and 2 and also from the guest living area with a wide balcony and plenty of seating. There is also seating on the beach with a fire pit and wood to start your private bonfire. A great place to enjoy all stars and evening sky. There is a full kitchen, dining and living area for guests to use and make your own meals or snacks. I wish we would of taken advantage of this but we were busy mountain biking. The rooms are large with a refrigerator and coffee service. One thing there is an open window in the wall between the bathroom and the bedroom that is covered with a curtain. If your are a very private person you might find this uncomfortable as you can see through it in the evening with the light on. The house is very well decorated with works of art by local artist available for purchase. Thanks Frank for the enjoyable three days at your Inn.

The pictures are generous. The actual space isn't quite as nice. The bedrooms have really nice views, but the main issue was the bathroom is not enclosed, which makes it seem like you have a toilet in your bedroom. If your seeking to become more intimate with your partner this might be the place for you. Another issue is the floors are wood and if you're not careful you can hear foot steps throughout the house. We had our children with us and they were running around while we were cooking dinner, this resulted in the owner (who lives on site in the lower level) to barge in unannounced and begin screaming profanities with our children present. We had rented the entire space, so it seemed really unprofessional to not knock on the door and ask us to have the kids be more sensitive about the floor noise vs. barging in yelling. There are so many other options available I'd highly recommend exploring them before spending a lot of money at the Lake Huron Inn.

The Inn is very nicely decorated and also very comfortable. Great views of Lake Huron and nicely landscaped in a wooded setting. The only reason I did not give it a 5 was that the owners failed to mention the trains that pass by close to the Inn, there is virtually no cell phone service, even with the booster they provide.
I grew up around trains so they did not disturb me. I don't think knowing about the train would have been a deal breaker and we did really enjoy our stay. Still, it would've been nice to be forewarned.

Our stay at the Inn was unique in that we were the only people there. It was interesting to have the place to ourselves. Our room was comfortable and nicely decorated. Very nice linens and towels. Owners Frank and Dan were very friendly and accommodating. Fresh fruit at breakfast was a nice treat. We suggest that the owners consider trimming or removing some trees to open the view of Lake Huron. The Au Sable Inn in Oscoda (18 miles south) has wonderful food - and the drive there and back offers great views. We had a wonderful time and would like to return sometime.

What a wonderful experience! Our parents and 5 siblings and spouses spent a week in this beautiful place as a celebration of our parent's 65th Wedding Anniversary. Each couple had their own room/suite which included a bathroom. The view from every level was spectacular. The owners were very accommodating to all of our needs. They even provided us with a turkey fryer for our seafood boil....all we had to do was ask! The shoreline was amazing. We had such an awesome time! I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a vacation home. Frank was great to work with!

Very nice B&B. Pretty inside with little beach out back. Owners were not intrusive. Continental style breakfast so you didn't have to be at breakfast at a certain time. Small towns nearby with some shopping and local restaurants, and a National park nearby.

We stayed here in early October in the driftwood suite. The view was amazing! Rooms 1 & 2 have the best views. Our hosts Dan and Frank were very welcoming and helpful. The room was clean, big, and beautifully decorated. The bathroom however does have an open wall with a curtain that is not private at all, but there is a bathroom available next door that can be used if that is an issue. The inn was is a charming and relaxing place to go. We will stay here again.
